1. UConn has won 32 straight games, going back to the NCAA tournament, and is only 1 game from tying the program's 4th longest streak in history. :D

2. Bria Hartley is 3 rebounds shy of the 1,500-500-500 Club. (points, assists, rebounds) She will join only DT and Maya in that elite group. She has scored in double figures in her last 10 games and raised her average to 15.8 per game.

3. Breanna Stewart is 2 points short of the 1,000 point Club. With her next basket, she will be the 4th player on this team w/ 1,000 or more pts and the 2nd fastest in history behind Maya, who took only 55 games.

4. UConn has now scored 2,189 points for an average of 84.2 per game this season. Their 580 assists on 836 buckets works out to 69.4%. Overall, UConn shoots 51% from the field (opponents just 31%) and 77% from the free throw line.

5. UConn has held opponents under 40 points in a game 8 times this season. The Huskies have forced 471 turnovers and given up only 484 baskets. UConn has more steals (260) than opponents have assists (259). ;)

6. Moriah Jefferson has 141 assists, including at least 5 in 11 straight games. She also has 69 steals and 80 rebounds vs only 45 turnovers. Her 3.13 assists/turnover ratio is on pace to be a UConn record.

7. UConn's top four players in minutes (Stef, Bria, MoJeff and Stewie) average between 29.2 and 31.7 minutes per game. In comparison, Sims (Baylor) and Ogwumike (Stanford) average 32.4 and 32.6 min/game. Thomas (Maryland) and Liston (Duke) average 29.5 and 30.6 per game. In her Senior year, Maya played 33.0 per game.

8. Stef Dolson leads UConn in minutes played (824) and rebounds (241). She is 2nd in blocks (64), 3rd in points (330) and 3rd in assists (89). She shoots 57% from the floor and 78% from free throw line. She is also the best dancer.

9. Stewie, Stef and Bria have outscored all of UConn's opponents 1,242 to 1,240 points. They have played 2,374 minutes vs 5,200 minutes for the other guys.

10. UConn has only 313 fouls in 26 games and opponents have tried only 233 free throws, less than 9 per game. In contrast, UConn has 260 steals, 223 blocked shots and 409 free throw attempts. Get fouled, but don't foul.

Go Huskies..!!

Normal service restored!
I read point #1 and went - hey wait a minute ... they have 4 undefeated seasons of at least 35 games, how is that possible?!! And then the lightbulb flashed on ... they strung two of those together so they are just part of a single streak. Sometimes one can be a little slow.

The hell with the stats; I just wanted to see your pic. :)

Thanks, as always!

I think it was John A. who recently called Diana and Maya the Ruth and Gehrig of UConn. At 33 mpg as a senior and with 154 games, Maya was the modern age Iron Horse.

UCF team web site lists players accomplishments (click on each player on the roster). Husky player accomplishments are off the wall, but UCF lists individual accomplishments list things like number of rebounds against UConn, assists against UConn, Scoring double digits against UConn...
Pretty awesome that UConn Huskies are the standard of measure for this team. Huge respect shown.

Any idea what happened that Briahanna Jackson, UCF high scorer, left the team?? Would hate to see anything bad happen to a kid that obviously loved to compete.

After the Jan '14 game with UConn scoring 28 points, she left for undisclosed personal reasons. No updates found.
Several BY'rs were speculating maybe we could get ahold of her! Good player, big loss for UCF. Those 28 points make her one of the most effective players against UConn this season.

The Knights actually still had a winning 8-6 record when Jackson left, but they've gone 2-9 since, though with a semi-decent home win recently over SMU. But they've averaged 49.5 ppg since Jackson's departure, and if you apply the normal Husky freezing D effect to that average, it gives you some idea of how few points UCF is likely to score in a road game tonight.
