UCONN to the SEC if they build an On-Campus Football Stadium to BREAK THE ACC/BIG COLLUSION AGAINST US.

The choice may be one of two...

Too be the goldfish in the Koi pond or to be the Koi in a goldfish pond

Guys Location doesn’t matter that much anymore. For gods sake Rutgers is gonna play USC and UCLA on a regular basis.

+ I like the fire of the SEC schools. I believe we bring that same kind of energy ESPECIALLY in Basketball

We are on a similar level Academically with the Kentuckys and Alabamas of the World. They don’t have any Pretendo Superiority Complex Academically Speaking. They are all about Fair Play Sports like US.

Always better to keep one's thoughts to oneself and let others wonder if you're an idiot than express your thoughts and remove all doubts.

Between the three of them ACC, BIG or SEC I would pick the latter in a heartbeat. I wouldn’t even consider the other two. Hopefully they have the fortitude to offer us.

You guys say and think what you want I‘M PUSHING UCONN TO THE SEC ALL DAY EVERY DAY. HOPEFULLY the SEC COMMISIONER MAKES A MOVE AS IT CONCERNS US WITH THE STIPULATION THAT WE BUILD AN ON-CAMPUS STADIUM. I WOULD GIVE HIM A TON OF CREDIT FOR HAVING THE TO DO WHAT NOONE WANTS TO except for maybe Dave Benedict.

Meanwhile in Knoxville…

Vandy might be interested. It would get to come up north and hang with the Ivy Leaguers after it rolls to a conference win.

Screw it, we should just schedule Pats, Jets, and Miami.
People would think we’re in the AFC East. If only we had an on campus stadium…..
We'd probably get more people in the stands playing the Jets and Pats too.

I know the OP's suggestion is crazy, but should the ACC collapse towards the end of the decade, I swear the suggestion may make sense.

The end goal - 24 teams.

Have two networks - SEC Network South / SEC Network East

SEC adds FSU, Miami, Clemson, UNC, Duke, UVA, Uconn and Kansas.

As a result, the league has 11 teams who have won at least 1 FB national championship in the previous 30 years.

Men's BB has Kentucky, Uconn, UNC, Duke and Kansas in the same conference and seven schools that won a men's BB title in the previous 30 years. There would be must-watch BB matchups almost every night during the season.

WBB is bonkers, with six previous national champions in the conference.

Baseball is off-the-charts good, too - something like 10 previous national champions in the conference.

Perhaps the biggest driver is that ESPN would then own all those brands (almost all of whom are "University of" State or "State" State University - with appeal beyond just alumni and large potential subscriber bases).

I will never forget when Chief00 predicted UConn to the SEC years ago. The funny thing is that if realignment still worked on markets, it would make some sense. Unfortunately, the SEC is a market of its own and doesn't need large populations and big cities to thrive.

It seems markets stopped mattering right as we got up to bat.

I occasionally have the urge to bay at the moon. But I'm feeling so boring and normal now. Thank you!

To me this makes the Most Sense. I would be 100% on-board. What do you guys think?
Sure. CT is going to build a 80,000 plus seat football stadium in Storrs. Are you paying for it? They can name it Obthree Stadium. The best fit for us was the ACC and we got blackballed.
