Was any of the other 3 teams scheduled to play UConn next year? If so than that would allow Geno to play someone that might have had to be dropped.

It's an in-season tournament, so they shouldn't have to drop anyone to fit these games in.

Geno has already stated that they have games that have to be dropped next year because of the round robin Big East schedule. If one of the 3 teams playing is already scheduled, then another team that is scheduled that may have been dropped would be able to play against UConn.

Oh right we're losing a bunch of games because of the dumb Big East conference schedule.

Of course, the chances of this game being played are slim....

Looking forward to it. Hopefully, it happens. Agree. Not much surprise who will be in the final.

The NCAA only allows 30 regular season games, UConn had 14 non conference games scheduled prior to the announcing of going to the Big East because they only played 16 conference games in the AAC. With the Big East playing a round robin 20 game conference schedule, UConn has to figure out a way to cancel or reschedule a total of 4 games, unless one or two of those teams are in this tournament.

Is there a list of the non conference games somewhere? Or what non conference games are already planned due to a home-and-home series?

I think you can do up to 31 if you have an in-season tourney. That's how UConn went 40-0 in 2014 and Baylor in 2012. I really dislike the extra Big East games though. Swapping potentially four decent games out of conference, for four likely garbage games in conference.

based on conversations with college administrators that I'm aware of in the Northeast, it's certainly less then a 50%-50% chance that the season starts on time, especially if all schools won't play without students on campus........

It's going to be interesting to see what happens with college football. The P-5 schools certainly generate a lot of football revenue but they also have huge expenses. If football money disappears some of those schools are in trouble and the economies of those football towns like S Bend are going to take a huge hit.

No college football and no NASCAR? Has the world gone insane? ;)

Remember that DePaul and Seton Hall were already on the schedule so they just get absorbed into BE conference scheduling.

So that still leaves 2 games left to reschedule or cancel.

Jm, you must be in heaven. Now all you need is a concession stand selling Shrimp and Hushpuppies.
Allergic to shrimp, how about BBQ ribs and potato salad with garlic bread and sweet tea!

OH SNAP.

Paige Bueckers is what I'm interested in seeing. Her first big game (I assume) on the calendar against a quality backcourt. Even if we lose the backcourt battle, I think we'll win the frontcourt, so hopefully evens out.

As always, Carl brings clarity to the situation.

Actually he has brought the opposite. It is an official multi-team even and does count against the limit.

For years teams were allowed to play either 29 games, with no multi-team event, or else 27 PLUS one multi-team event. If the MTE was four games (the max), then a team could get up to 31 games. That rule has been tweaked slightly for this year.
