I like this post from men’s basketball player Andre Jackson. He talks about what playing for Connecticut means to him and as a part of that he talks about the universities history of success for both the men’s team and the woman’s team.


I thought I’d post it because sometimes it seems like you can fans can be a little too tribal regarding the team they root for, instead of the University as a whole. Andre views it as just different branches off the same tree.

We Kentuckians like to claim that Kentucky is the basketball capital of the world. Our friends in North Carolina would claim the same. But when you look at combined success in MBB and WBB, it's hard to dispute that UConn deserves that moniker.
