Sad ending to a great season, but truly a tremendous effort all year by the Huskies..!! Here are some weird/fun season stats.
1. Christyn finishes as the leading scorer with 468 points. That was less than her 472 last year, but 1 more than her 467 as a sophomore. Freshman season she had 442. All that totals 1,850 points and 15th place all-time in UConn scoring. (14th place remains Svetlana, just 15 points away.)
2. Nika had 100 rebounds in her 33 games. She also had 50 baskets and 25 threes. Her 87 assists were 3rd highest. Her 47 steals were 3rd highest.
3. Evina finished 2nd in scoring with 323 points & 2nd in assists with 113. She was also 2nd in minutes with 990. Not bad for Mom w/ a surgical repaired knee.
4. Olivia led the team in assists with 116, blocked shots with 55, and rebounds with 246. The last "non-guard" to lead in assists was Gabby in 2018-18.
5. Paige played in 17 games, scored 248 points and still managed 67 assists and 68 boards. She finished at 35.3% from three point range.
6. Azzi, Caroline and Liv all finished in 3rd place in scoring with 303 points. A 3 way tie for 3rd w/ 303.
7. Dorka was 3rd in rebounding, just 1 board behind Aaliyah at 182. She hit 31.3% of her threes and scored 234 points in 32 games.
8. Azzi led the team with 58 made threes and a 43% accuracy rate. Her 31-34 at the charity stripe = 91.2%
9. UConn scored 2,656 points in 36 games for an average of 73.8 per game. The last two years they averaged 81.9 and 78.7 per game.
10. The team shot 47.7% from the field and 33.8 from three range. Last year they were 51.1% from the field and 35.6% from three.
