UConn stats vs Rutgers = Sweet 16.....

UConn pounded Rutgers 91-55 in the final game for KML and Kiah Stokes in Storrs. The victory moves UConn on to the Sweet 16 in Albany. Sixteen just happens to be the magic stat number for game, as well…. Consider:

• KML led all scorers with twenty three points on just 16 shots.
• Morgan Tuck dominated in the low post w/ 16 points and another fine game.
• When they did miss a shot, UConn grabbed 16 offensive rebounds.
• UConn’s twenty three assists were 16 more than the seven for Rutgers.
• After building a sizeable halftime lead, UConn outscored the Scarlet mugs by 16 in the 2nd half.
• UConn went to the free throw line early & often, making 16 shots from the charity stripe.
• Stewie & Kia Nurse combined for 16 points w/ both scoring eight each.
• UConn was a tad careless w/ the ball, committing 16 turnovers.
• And finally, the last of UConn’s 66 shots was a miss by Ekmark w/ 16 seconds left in the game.

To add to the list, it is a pity that Moriah J did not score 32 points, or she would have 1016 points and someone might have noticed!
I can excuse the ESPN-chosen color commentators, but even the UCONN post-game write up missed it.
At least the JI noticed it in their write up.
