Apparently, there are now only 100 days until Christmas. So here is an early present with a stats quiz, from last season, dedicated to TCC Kid.

1. Name the only player to take more shots from outside the 3 point arc, than inside that arc last season.
2. Who had more rebounds, Nika or Caroline?
3. Name the best 3 point shooter in the 6 games of the NCAA tournament. (minimum 5 attempts)
4. As a team, all season, did UConn shoot over or under 34% from 3 point range?
5. Who scored more points last season, Azzi, Olivia or Caroline?
6. Evina led the Huskies in which stat: steals, assists or made free throws?
7. Was UConn's team total of 643 assists more or less than the previous two years?
8. Christyn, Evina and Olivia scored what % of UConn's points last season: 37%, 41% or 46%?
9. Azzi shot 91% from the free throw line. Was the last player to make 90% from the charity stripe Katie Lou, Crystal or Paige?
10. UConn had more than 1,000 combined turnovers and fouls last season. How many times has that happened in the last decade?


Answers:
1. The only player who shot more from outside the arc was Azzi. 135 tries from 3 pt, 99 from inside.
2. Nika had 100, CD had 99.
3. In the NCAA tournament, Nika shot 60% from 3 pt range (3-5). Azzi was 40.6% at 13-32. Paige was 5-16 or 31%.
4. Under, 33.8% (247-731)
5. Trick question. They all score 303 points.
6. Evina was #1 in steals with 50. She was 2nd in assists (113) and 2nd in made free throws (50).
7. The 643 assists was better than the 613 two years ago and the 599 the year before that.
8. Those three scored 1,094 points or 41% of the team total.
9. Crystal shot 92.4% from the charity stripe in 2018-19.
10. Only once. In 2012-13, the Huskies had 1,060. This past season, it was 504 turnovers and 514 fouls.

I was one for ten!....I got the "trick quess" right # 5 !! They all scored 303 points. Sometimes it pays to
"follow the numbers". A nice set of quiz questions = Thanks for putting it together!
Howeve, what I most enjoy is watching the"ballet" of the Lady Huskies play!

I got 8 out of 10! Missed the trick question & the last one. This was fun!

My results:

1. Unsure between Azzi (obvious) and Amari.

2. Figured it was close. Nika is an aggressive rebounder.

3. I would have picked Azzi.

4. I knew 33.8% from recent research. I’m predicting 38% this season.

5. I knew Azzi had the highest average, but Liv probably played the most games.

6. I guessed steals.

7. I guessed more, because we played more games (36). Thé prior seasons were shortened by Covid.

8. I erred on the high side, at 46%.

9. I picked Crystal. I thought she was over 90% one season. Lou is an excellent shooter, but I think she was 85% or so most years. I thought Paige flirted with 90% over her first year, but came up short.

10. I guessed none. We usually limit at least one of those.

Holy smoke David!!!! I FAILED YOUR TEST. I think this is the first one in 5 or more years. You had the audacity to ask REAL questions.
