1. Paige has 17 assists and just 2 turnovers
2. Without Jana’s 3-10, the rest of the team is 23-28, 82%.
3. Speaking of Jana, she is 7th in minutes played but has the second most rebounds with 27.
4. Ashlynn has appeared in 42 games as a Husky and shot 23 free throws. None this year. Made 21 by the way.
5. Sarah is leading the team in blocks, assists and rebounding. Second in scoring and steals. Expectations were high for the number one recruit in the country but this is beyond imagination.

Every UConn fan understands Sarah Strong is really, really good and going to get even better. But, there are a few that may not comprehend just how well she is playing she is right now. After only 4 games...
Consider:
1. Assists - Sarah LEADS the team with 19 assists. More than Kaitlyn (18) and Paige (17). She is not even a guard... ;)
2. Rebounds - Strong also LEADS the team in rebounds with 32, of which 25 are defensive and 7 offensive. The next highest defensive total is Jana with 16.
3. Blocks - Sarah has 8 blocked shots. The rest of the team has 8 blocks COMBINED..
4. Minutes - Her 118 minutes played is the most on the roster. That averages 29.5 minutes per game.
5. Points - Ok, she is 2nd in points to Paige (64 vs 80), but in her defense, she has taken 1 less shot & only 2 free throws.
6. Steals - Again, 2nd on the team with 10 versus 11 for Paige and 11 for Ashlynn.

Strong is that rare combination of scoring, passing, rebounding and quickness. Hard to nit-pick any part of her game now that the threes are falling. Although it did take 4 whole games for that to work out....:D

Go Sarah..! Go Huskies..!!

Not surprised, her best asset is probably between her ears. In her mind, the game around her is being played at a fairly slow pace that for the most part she can control. And she’s going to get better.

I like what you posted. It shows research and diligence. That is what the pundits said about SARAH, capable of doing it all, hence her NO. 1 pick in the country. SARAH IS the real deal and Uconn will be " bad for basketball again" for a long time. The HUSKIES finally have the team they had from 2013 to 2019, a scoring and defensive in a zone all their own. This team is the future of UCONN basketball and it's successes. GO SARAH!!! GO FRESHMEN!!! GO SOPHOMORES!!! GO HUSKIES!!!!!

Having watched her play live in hs an a few other games on tape I was surprised that was struggling a bit from 3
The confidence and no hesitation on the last made
3’s was great to see
I had posted a number of times that the potential
For greatness was likely but she is better than I thought
I believe her improvement in conditioning from
Hs had been very beneficial

She is easily the best player we have added since Paige, no doubt.
If Azzi had not been hurt and had an injury free year last year, the statement would be debatable. I firmly believe we would have won it all with her at top form. Right now, it's not debatable or even a necessary topic. Sarah is an incredible yet understated talent. Last night there was deliverance of the missing part of her game. What a smooth stroke on those 3s! When Azzi gets it all back into game form the team will be too much fun to watch. Perhaps the greatest offensive team UCONN has ever had.

Her stats are in part due to Geno playing her a lot because he wants her to be a veteran by March.

She rips down contested boards on one possession and then steals the ball out on the perimeter on the next. When she's on the court UConn has a 5.5 on 5 advantage.

She is the poster child for positionless basketball. She has size and can do almost everything.

And now that she got a series of 3s to go down, watch out!

I know it’s only been 4 games, 3 against unranked opponents. But it’s really quite impressive.

Testament to the coaching staff and teammates because they are putting her in spots to succeed. And really speaks to her IQ.

She’s one of those players who effortlessly stuffs the stat sheet. She racks up rebounds and assists with ease, and when her shot is falling you really notice her offensive firepower. Sneaky on defense with quick feet and hands, and has a knack for blocking shots. Her stats nearly mirror Paige and we and the media gush over Paige. She’s really a silent assassin!

Yes, Shade definitely needs to get to the line more.

I continue to marvel at how her size, physique, game
and skill-set are similar to that of JuJu.

And quite unlike anyone in the W

A position-less, power forward (?)

She's not unlike Napheesa in many ways if you are comparing to the W. As Kara put it in the after show, same script different cast.

Don’t see the comparison at all
Juju s best attribute is All world athleticism
SS while athletic has skills court vision and passing
Ability that are not the strength of juju game right

Sarah may be a freshman but she does not play like one. She plays like a senior. I really enjoy watching her play- she's calm, confident and always seems to be in the right position at the right time whether she's on offense or defense.

Totally agree, except about the surprise concerning assists and steals. Like @Zonepress I watched a few of her HS games and her defensive and passing skills were easy to see. Those quick hands that get blocks and tip passes are a trademark. She is playing exactly as we thought she would, and you are totally right that she will only get better.
