With the season more or less at the half-way point, here are some interesting, weird and fun stats from our favorite team:
1. UConn leads the nation in 3-point shooting at 40.6%. But it is not just Azzi, who is actually 2nd on the team to Blanca. Here are the leaders in 3 point %:
Blanca at 47.4%, Azzi at 47.0%, Allie at 43.9% and Sarah at 42.0%. (Ashlynn is up to 38.1% in 5th place)
2. UConn has created 455 turnovers in 18 games. That is 25.3 per game, every game.
3. Larceny continues, with the Huskies stealing the ball 285 times or 15.8 times a game.
4. Ash has played 434 minutes of action this season, but been to the free throw line for only 9 attempts. Kelis has played 99 minutes & been to the charity stripe 14 times.
5. Three players have been a perfect 100% shooting from the free throw line. Azzi (30), Caroline (6) and Ice (1).
6. Sarah leads the team with 29 blocked shots & Serah is 2nd at 25. Third place is a surprise with Azzi at 8..!!
7. UConn is scoring 90.4 points per game, while giving up only 51.7.
8. Blanca is 3rd on the team in scoring with 172 points. That is 10.8 per game.
9. Sarah's 147 total rebounds are more than Jana, Blanca and Allie combined (133).
10. UConn has scored 452 points in the 1st quarter & given up only 188 points. Average score 25-10...
