The 4th quarter against Marquette was probably the best 10 minutes of basketball for the Huskies this year. How good was it? Consider:

1. The team shot 11-15 or 73% from the field.
2. The Huskies had 0 turnovers.
3. The period started and ended with Dorka making a 3 point shot.
4. The defense held Marquette to 6 shots from the field.
5. Azzi Fudd scored 10 points for the period, MU scored 11 total.
6. UConn shot 4-6 from three range while Marquette had 0 threes.
7. The Huskies had 3 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block in the final 10 minutes.
8. UConn played only 5 players in the 4th period.

A close game for 30 minutes was blown wide open with a 27 point explosion by UConn. A great win by the personnel limited Huskies..!! Now 5 days of rest before Xavier on Friday.

Go Huskies..!!

Thanks, David! I think a couple of stats were key: we had 0 turnovers, they had 7. As a result, we got a lot more shots than they did. And we made them. MU got a couple of questionable shooting fouls; otherwise, the 4th quarter score would have even more one-sided. That was a great quarter1

It was really great to watch. What jumped out to me was right after #12 (Mclaughlin?) hit a 3 near the end of the 3rd (Nika was not on her at the time), Nika cranked the defensive intensity up to 11 out of 10 and absolutely smothered her often disrupting the offense as a result. Definitely in "Angry Nika" mode!
