Ok, maybe not the best half of basketball ever, but UConn's play against Seton Hall was really special. There was history made, an inspirational comeback from injury and dominant scoring & defense against a decent opponent. Consider:

1. Paige's pull up jumper in the 2nd period gave her 2,000 points in just 102 UConn games. She passed Maya Moore's 108 games for quickest ever to 2,000.
2. Aubrey returned to the court after a long recovery from her knee injury and the crowd went nuts. She played 10 minutes, scored 3 points and typical Aubrey, grabbed 4 rebounds.
3. Sarah, Paige and Azzi scored UConn's first 24 points in the 1st period. The three headed scoring monster finished the half with 43 points to Seton Hall's 16.
4. UConn scored 56 points in the 1st half, on 62% shooting and held SH to 16 points on 21% shooting.
5. Sarah had a double-double in the first half with 10 rebounds and 16 points.
6. The Huskies led by 40 points at the half, despite both teams taking 34 shots.
7. UConn had 18 assists on 21 baskets...in the 1st half.
8. The Huskies made 9 of 17 threes in the half for 53% accuracy.
9. Geno actually smiled at the halftime interview.

Great half & overall game for all the Huskies..! Paige set the record, Aubrey returned and played well, Sarah scored 23 in 20 minutes of play and all 12 active players got in and scored..!!
Go Huskies..!!

I think that the finest half of UConn basketball was against St. Francis (PA) in the first round of the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
UConn led 55-19 after the 1st quarter and led 94-31 at the half.
The game was played just like a typical Red Flash game, run and gun, and trying to score in the 1st ten seconds of each play clock. The Red Flash had the 2nd leading scorer in the nation, who was held to nine points. They ended the game having made 10 of 57 from behind the arc.
UConn set NCAA records for the most points in the first quarter, 55, most in a half, 94, and most points in a game, 140. UConn won 140 - 52. It was one point less than the record for MOV.
It was a really, really fun game to watch.

While Seton Hall was certainly entertaining, I’d argue that any 1 vs 2 or 1 vs 3 match up from nearly any of the national championship teams was a lot better basketball. In those kinds of games, any mistakes are exposed. Seton Hall was fun to watch, but it didn’t have a Taurasi 3/4 court shot or anything else I’d consider an all time great play.

I loved the first half of Uconn vs Duke in 2011. Duke was undefeated 20-0 #3 team in the country. Uconn jumped out to an 13-0 lead and was up 23-2 after 10 min of play. Ending up leading 41-15 at the half. Absolute beat down in a huge matchup.

Or the 61-12 lead over Mississippi state, number five seed, in the sweet sixteen of 2016 tournament.
