BOT approved the purchase of Farmer Brown's and X Lot land along with several adjoining parcels for future development. 3.8 million for 27 acres. Bank owned now. Previous owner paid nearly 6 million in 2008. No need to worry about being towed in the near future.

Dorms and parking deck for enrollment expansion, most likely. Looks like a smart move.

great move by the university. Added parking & dorms would be ideal for that area.

Sucks for the guy who purchased the land in 2008!

1985. Otis Day and the Nights in the Jungle quad. Funny that students today only know the Jungle as North campus.

All this talk really makes me feel old. I think that we barely had that stuff in the 70's. I do recall a sofa being thrown out of the window at Stowe C in old South Campus in 1976, leading to a nice bonfire.

Yep, that was the last one in the SU quad. Definitely would be in my in top-5 weekends ever if I could remember more of it. Within 3yrs it was a generic no-alcohol concert at Memorial Stadium

Wearing leather jackets on a very hot day. Talk about being true to yourself.

Odd I remember that in 1981. Ah well there is nothing like the classics.

Tower of Power in 1978

Was in a car with a friend and a well known UConn football player (and dealer) who had a pound of pot with him in the car

There were saw horses blocking the way near the concert and he got out of the car and moved them so we could get through with cops all over the place

Thought jail time was in my future

Man I used to do some ...fun... things in Farmer Brown's parking lot.

Also used to park my car there without a pass. Good times.

Bad news.. rumor has it the ACC swooped in at the 11th hour and claimed the Farmer Brown lot

1978. The Good Rats up by Towers. They flung fake rats out of a garbage can into the delirious crowd.

I think it was '79. We did a bonfire in the Towers quad that same spring. I did a Jimi Hendrix with my cheap acoustic--right into the flames.
