Will the Connecticut media gives the actual results, bench press numbers, forty times, or just write some fluff pieces about NFL scouts in Storrs?

I would love the former but expect the latter.

Unnamed UConn Reporter Blog

UConn Reporter: I'll take a few questions.

UConn Fan: Reporter. I have a question.

UConn Reporter: Hey, Fan. It's all good, all good my man.

UConn Fan: How does Ryan Griffin look as a pro prospect? The kid looks lean and ready to impress right now.

UConn Reporter: I spoke to Joe Moorehead about Tebucky Jones Jr.'s chances at the next level. He said "good, you know, great hand eye coordination. He's killing it at Minecraft."

UConn Fan 2: Every time Pro Day comes around, is it a great time for the staff to show off the facilities and staff, to show the NFL that the talent coming out of UConn is the real deal and that UConn's pro day athletes are well-trained, hard workers and have the desire to succeed?

UConn Reporter: What do you mean? When did I say that UConn doesn't produce NFL talent?

UConn Fan Three: I know this is a touchy subject, but what do you think about UConn's strong showing at the combine relative to its on-field performance last year?

UConn Reporter: Ya know, he works as hard as anybody, and to say that he doesn't get it isn't worth mentioning. If you don't want to buy tickets that's up to you.

Y'all give Dez way too hard a time given how few reporters we have who give even the slightest amount of a duck about UConn football.

At least they know something about football.

Dez is the only one who covers the program with any consistency. The lack of coverage is not his fault.

Although I don't agree with all his opinions, he isn't the problem. The problem is a sports editor that uses a 1960's playbook and the fact Jacobs is a waste of space.

No - the problem is a Sport's Editor/News Organization working off a budget based off declining Ad revenues....

Pal, Pro Day is the 27th. During The Combine, the NFL Network had it listed in their crawl on bottom of screen wrong (the 20th) with none of our players names except our four combine participants. It stayed wrong for three days until I notified WM. He and Mike Enright finally had it changed only to have Mike Smith called "Nick". A comedy (if it wasn't so freaking sad) of errors. As I told WM, it's a reflection (among many others) of how disrespected we are. The fact that no-one from the school was watching was also disconcerting.

It is a darn shame considering most of this stuff could be handled by interns.

I mostly agree here but I find On The Fly to be the biggest waste of space. Regardless of the host most news quips can be found in the In Brief section on page two or stories on pages two or three. I have addressed the editor a few times on swatting the fly as a waste of limited space.

What does everyone think of the senior CBs ? and where they should go in the draft

I put more stock in this board, than the combine, and the scouts

Both will hear their names called.

I think that Blidi could go in the second and won't make it out of the third round.

I see Gratz (largely because of his excellent 40 time) going in the third or more likely the fourth round. He still needs a good pro day. He has to show scouts he can flip his hips if he wants to play corner. Otherwise he will be looked at as a safety and he could drop as low as the sixth.

I think to many scouts ignore what happens in games, and put to much stock into combine results. I put more stock in game performance.
Not as much anymore. Gone are the days of Mike Mamula where a 6th rounder becomes the 6th overall pick based on the combine. Teams know that these guys basically drop out of school in January and train for the specific combine drills.

there are still players moving up based on a good pro day. If the training can increase their speed.1 of a second they move up a round or two.

"Pasqualoni said he is expecting representatives from nearly every NFL team to be in attendance at UConn’s Pro Day Wednesday afternoon as UConn’s large group of pro prospects look to continue to impress the pro scouts.

“Of 32 teams in the NFL there will probably be like 28 or 29 here which really says something,” Pasqualoni said. “There will be a lot of coaches, a lot of scouts, probably a general manager or two so I am anxious and hopeful that they have a great day.

“You wouldn’t have this many guys coming if they weren’t fired up about it. Teams are sending multiple coaches, sending two and three guys here and that means they are interested in getting accurate information and evaluations.”

Cornerbacks Dwayne Gratz and Blidi Wreh-Wilson, defensive end Trevardo Williams and linebacker Sio Moore all had strong showings at the NFL combines. It remains to be seen how much they do at the timing day since they already have strong numbers but tight end Ryan Griffin and offensive lineman Adam Masters are among the Huskies who could create a buzz with impressive workouts."
