I prefer Jalen Adams way more.
I love our recruiting momentum right now. But can somebody who knows the recruiting game help me out a little.
When does it become too much to keep offering so many kids? Is it normal to offer one or two new guys everyday? They're all top talent so its great, but have we always done this? I know they're not all the same clas, but we have 2 2015 guard commits and have offers to at least 5 or 6 others. I guess maybe that's not so many.
BUT
Do prince and turtle wonder why we are offering so many other guards? And what about Adams? Obviously it's great to offer so many top kids. But unless they are also really interested, couldn't it backfire a little and offend some kids that really are interested in coming here.
All these guys are going to play the 1,2 AND 3. I think Ollie's going for that interchangeability. If they can D up some bigger threes, then the versatility is going to kill teams.
That said, I'm hoping for at least one small, quick, waterbug type guard.
For the most part, the types of guys UCONN recruits want to play with other good players (as opposed to guys who require being featured). They are also promised only one thing: you will have to earn your minutes. They know the score coming in.
Ollie clearly wants a perimeter heavy team. I would like at least one rim protector and presence in the center though.
