I've stated all along that we needed to have patience with this team. This is a very young team and Hurley and staff is relying on a lot of Freshmen and Sophomores to play key minutes. I think what we are seeing is a lack of experience in certain situations. Losing McNeeley has been a spotlight on some blemishes but we need to let these guys struggle and figure it out. I believe that we have yet to see the best of most of these guys. Let them grow and then look out. These guys are talented. Let's have a little bit of faith.

Is it that young a of a team? Hass, Aidan, Samson Johnson, Reed, AK are all upperclassmen. That's over half of our rotation.

They deserve to be in the Top-25.

I know there is a lot of haters out there. But this team is missing players due to injury. UConn has earned "getting the benefit of the doubt".

If other blue blood programs get it, so should we.

EDIT: Surprised Creighton is getting so little love. only 12 votes

I was a little disappointed with J-Fan but if we are evaluating teams on how they play today, I suppose I have to give him some slack. 14-6 is what it is.

Very generous voting lol

24-26 is essentially a wash. #24 Vandy has 132 votes, #26 Michigan has 129 with us right in between

St John’s top 15!

Top 10 opponent this week. Win and nothing that happened last week matters anymore

Why? Do you really think they should be ranked after the last couple weeks they had? Fanta is one of the few that pays attention to/watches games all around the country so unfortunately I think he's spot on in not ranking the Huskies

I can't fault Fanta for his Top 25 leaving UConn out. UConn needs to start playing better and winning. The metrics improvements and the AP Top 25 will take care of itself and are byproduct of UConn's performance.

I'm already annoyed with Johnnies fans on twitter. They've celebrated the win at home against Xavier and being ranked 15 as if they won the National Championship. Can't wait for 2/7!

I think we drop out eventually but go into the dance ranked somewhere between 20-25 as a 6 seed

Age/academic year wise, definitely not a super young team. However, viewing the roster's "youth" from an experience standpoint (especially in the roles they are being asked to play this year) the team does come across as younger. A lot of new roles and limited overall experience and experience within the UConn system. Granted how long is that leash/excuse valid, lord knows, just hoping for more of the one possession games to swing our way in February.

Wasn't the season supposed to be a bumpy ride ? Hopefully starting in Feb with Liam on the way back, the team learns to play defense as a team better and gets back to its high level offense so that progress is made towards March. Maybe we're not done with more bumps, but I believe we will be fine in the end.

We're lucky to still be ranked. Probably because of our brand, past success, some solid high quad wins and playing without McNeeley.

One head scratcher is Illinois at 18. They're the only other top 25 team with 6 losses and for the life of me, don't know what people see in their resume to vote them that high.

Depending how other lower half or just out of the top 25 do this week, we might need to beat DePaul and @ Marquette to stay in the top 25. Tall order. Maybe defeating the Blue Demons and having a completive loss at Marquette keeps us in the poll, but I doubt it. Hope they win both and am wrong if they don't.

Young in the sense that not a lot of them have played together prior to this year.
