UConn/Notre Dame Prediction

Good buddy of mine goes to Vegas 2-3 times a year.

He was there in the Spring of 2004 and had heard so much UConn Women blah, blah, blah from me over the years, that he went and found the only casino out there (small and way off the strip) that was taking bets on wcbb. I'd get a call before each successive round as DT progressed through the tourney wanting my affirmation to keep doubling-down on UConn. He was up over $20K betting on UConn going into the NC game.

I got the call before the NC game and told him never bet against Geno in the championship game and never, ever bet against DT in anything! He's primed to go and was in line to come away $40K richer off of UConn for the tourney, but never made it to the casino for the NC bet. Turns out he was with a group of guys that had rented a house and (1) car. They all headed for the strip, hijacking him and saying they weren't gonna drive 10 miles the other way to put a bet on a f#@$ing women's basketball game. He was not amused.

Of course, DT took care of business!

For what it's worth, the Vegas wise guys have UConn by anywhere from 4 to 9 points, depending on the book.

Actually just use the top line(on the above link) to get the true points, which has it at UConn as a 6 1/2 point favorite.(yesterday it was UConn by 7 1/2 points) so Vegas has taken action on Notre Dame on this game.

The other lines listed adjust the money you would have to "lay" or "take" if you wanted to "lay" or "take" more or less points.

If you scroll further down the page you can also bet who will be ahead at the 5, 10, and 15 minute marks of the first half. Vegas can make a line on almost anything.............and find someone to bet it.

I think the first 5 minutes of the game will be very important. If UConn hits their shots early,
we can all breathe a sigh of relief. Otherwise . . .

I hope ND's inconsistent defense continues tonight. The cold shooting Huskies could use a little confidence booster, especially at the start. If things start to go ND's way, I hope Coach isn't slow to pull the trigger on going big. Lately when Kiah comes into the game things turn around in a hurry. Her defensive presence is quite deflating to the other team. Would love for Stef to have a monster night in her final game as a Husky.

19 for Stef, 19 for Bria. The others can split up the remaining 40 or so, how's that?

Unless there is a total breakdown of combination of Uconn continuing to shoot poorly and piling up fouls which they haven't done all season and notre dames 2 guards getting 25 to 30 each I don't see how Uconn loses much less be a close game. And without Achonwa in the middle for notre dame there will be no excuses that are acceptable for losing this game. My prediction is Uconn 82 nd 60
