Pandolfo is expected to bring UConn associate coach Joe Pereiraback to BU, where Pereira served as team captain during the 2010-11 season.

Once that move becomes finalized, Columbus Blue Jackets scout and former Clarkson associate coach Greg Drechsel is expected to be the top candidate to fill Pereira's spot at UConn.

Drechsel doesn’t have Hockey East experience unless I’m missing something so he’s not a candidate.

Would he come? What about Mark Dennehy
I do think Albie would be interested. In a previous newsletter, Mike McMahon insinuated there'd been at least informal talks between Cav and Albie. Dennehy is highly unlikely, he'd want to be a head coach somewhere.

I don't subscribe to it, but Jeff Cox reported in a paywall article that UConn is apparently targeting Joe's brother Michael Pereira as a replacement hire.

No clue if top choice but he does check the prep school coaching experience, the Collegiate/Hockey East playing experience and the professional playing experience boxes from the UConn job posting.

Yep, and it does seem that Uconn writes the job postings to fit the candidates rather than the other way around. I sat in at Uconn's request to the FB coach hiring think tank with some other donors and the Parker Agency before Mora was hired. Though there was alot tossed around it seems like Benedict narrowed in on Mora ( rightly so) on his own outside of what Parker assisted with. After that the posting(s) seems to be just a formality.

UConn wants coaches with HE experience? Darn it, I wanted them to hire Ron Francis :D.

Now in all seriousness, why only HE experience? Nobody from a team like Michigan, Wisconsin or Minnesota could apply? Just wondering...

It's that they've already picked out the candidate and he has HE experience. They're written to the candidates

True, or I was hoping it was Dave Tippett or Kevin Dineen since they both at least have D-1 playing experience...;)
That's the irony of the way these job postings are written, after the fact. Cavanaugh couldn't even meet the D-1 preferred qualification that they want his assistant to have, since he only played D2 or D3, whatever Bowdoin was at the time.
