UConn is a defensive juggernaut!

UConn is a tremendous offensive team- Sanogo, Hawkins, Karaban etc- but they may be even better on the defensive end. They were swarming all over SDSU like an angry bunch of hornets- switching quickly on screens, jumping into passing lanes, playing straight up tough defense on their man, boxing out & grabbing rebounds. Nothing was easy for SDSU, even what looked like layups were tightly contested by UConn. There isn’t a single weakness defensively on the team! Players who weren’t known for being good defenders became, over the season, really strong and connected parts to a punishing group of defenders. We all knew how good Andre is, but during the tournament the nation could see how good Sanogo, Hawkins, Joey C, Alleyne and Karaban were, and then there is the monster Clingan too. Of course, Tristan and Hassan are solid too- Hurley really assembled and created a tough, tough defensive force!
