According to Jeff Goodman:

http://www.cbssports.com/collegebas...tunate-it-didnt-get-a-date-with-no-1-kentucky

Apparently, we would have been "shellacked" by Calipari, and stood no shot of giving them a run.

Also, our road loss to bubble Seton Hall was embarrassing.

Other highlights: without Kemba Walker, Calhoun is not a good coach.

Even after last night, I still don't see the team getting blown out by UK. If they were going to give Cuse a run three times this year I don't know why they wouldn't do the same to UK.

So getting blown out by Iowa State is better than beating Iowa State and getting blown out by Kentucky? Got it.

I don't understand the zeal these guys have in writing about the death of this program, how many times has this narrative been written?

I'm glad Goodman wrote this and not Parrish or Doyel because if either of the other two had I am sure it would have been a lot harsher and pissed us off even more. It is almost not even worth discussing now, but I don't think there is any way UConn would have been hammered by UK. But yes, its over.

I feel the same way. Last night I was saying to my roommate how "funny" the media can be. two years ago it was: "This program is going downhill fast". Last year it was: "UConn should be in the blue blood conversation". Now this year it's back to: "The program is doomed".

Seriously. Did Calhoun beat them up in middle school or something? There is real venom directed this way, and I do not know why.

I believe when Ray Allen left and UConn was poor in 1997, everyone was saying Calhoun would never make a final four. Then in 1999 even after losing only 2 games all year, Duke was the presumptive favorite (Duke Invitational). Then in 2001 UConn was going back downhill. Then in 2004 UConn couldn't win it because of Emeka's back (Emeka not voted NCAA POY). Then 2007 happened and Calhoun should retire started. Then 2009, FF and Calhoun should retire, then 2010 and Calhoun should retire. Then NC in 2011 when everyone and their mother said UConn was a one man team and wouldn't win a single round in the tournament, or would lose to (insert team) next. Now Calhoun can only coach with Kemba around.

I don't think Goodman has said a good word about us all year. He loves to kick us when we're down.

In order to be pissed off, I would have to read any of the opinions of these fine gentlemen. So I never do.

It doesn't work that way, we win last night and we could play kentucky straight up the way we played Cuse. These guys talk out of their a##es.

Strange.

I just don't feel "fortunate" today......

....Nope! Just not feeling it.

Maybe something is wrong with me.

I said even before the tournament started that I had more confidence that UConn would beat Kentucky than I did that UConn would beat Iowa State. I still think we upset UK if we get by Iowa St. But Iowa St was a horrible matchup for us and we came out flat and without intensity.
