UConn football is +30000 to win the AAC. How much do I bet?

Assuming there’s no max payout restriction, my advice on long-shot wagers is to bet an amount that won’t hurt if you lose—but will be meaningful if you happen to shock the world and win.
At 300-1 odds a $50 bet would pay you $15,000. That sounds about right.

For the EPL fans out there, didn't the team that won a couple years ago have some incredibly crazy odds?

I think I actually read their odds of winning the EPL were the same that year as UConn winning the BCS/CFP.

That’s more than what it is for winning the whole BCS shebang.
Caesar’s has them at 10,000 - 1.

Leicester City was 5,000-1

Heading to New Jersey soon and can get UConn +30000 (yeah, that's 4 zeros) to win the AAC in football. How much should I bet?

For those of us who don't go to sports books, what does "+30000" mean in the context of a season? I'm assuming you don't mean the odds of UConn winning are 30k to 1 or you would have said so.

Thanks

Bet $100 to win $30000.

Drop the last two zeros (300-1)

which obvious is a ridiculous underprice - they are probably more like 10k to 1 if they are even that.

Thank you. But why in the world wouldn't the industry just say "UConn is 300 to 1 to ...?"

They do sometimes - look at the attachment a couple of posts up.

It’s usually 300/1 in the marketing and news and then in online books it’s +30000.

That’s American odds style at least. Some of the European ways would make less sense to you.

What are the odds UConn will win six games and qualify for bowl game. That is not out of the question,

Stupid question, but I have no experience at all with bettimg. How do I legally place a bet. I go to draft kings?

Sports betting is expected to legally be coming to Connecticut shortly at the tribal casinos. Currently in order to bet legally here, you can either go to the Twin River Casinos in Rhode Island or go to New Jersey. New Jersey has the best mobile betting options with sites like DraftKings and FanDuel pretty well established. As long as you are within New Jersey borders both of the aforementioned sites will allow you to bet on their mobile apps. Short of these options, everything else is on the black market through an underground bookie or an offshore website online.

Bad News: I got UConn at +40000 to win the AAC.

Good News: I have a whole football season to chase that loss.

Bet $500, if you can live without it. $150,000 buys a lot of season tickets. Lol
