Maybe a stupid question, but is the pool of people for this job current UConn grad students or do you get hired by UConn and then become a grad student at UConn? Or do you even have to be in grad school at UConn at any point?

The Analyst posting is different than the 2 GA positions.

The GA can already be a current UConn student pursuing a post graduate degree @ UConn or someone who is applying to UConn Grad School. They need to be accepted into UConn Grad School and attend required classes/keep on track to graduate (re: GPA requirements). The NCAA limits GA terms to two years.

So if I’ve dominated in fantasy football, that’s not enough?

So basically enough time to get a masters degree. Likely in a friendly program (kinesiology, business school, etc)

Frankly if you feel comfortable using the phrase "Dude, you've got the chill with the gadget plays. They aren't working." That's good enough for me.

Background for one of the openings:

“ "I am excited to announce that Tyler Loftus is returning from a two-year hiatus at UConn to become our wide receivers coach," Fleming said. "Tyler contributed greatly to our program in his first tour of duty here in Kingston. His passion for URI and his football intelligence will be hugely beneficial for our offensive staff and players."

Loftus is coming off a nearly two-year stay at the University of Connecticut, where was promoted to QB Analyst after serving as the Wide Receivers Graduate Assistant. He also held the role of interim running backs coach for the 2022 Myrtle Beach Bowl.

The program saw significant improvements during Loftus' tenure in Storrs. In 2022, the team became Bowl-eligible for the first time since 2015 as part of an effort that saw UConn accrue nine wins in two seasons after earning just 10 total in the previous six campaigns. In 2023, quarterback Ta'Quan Roberson became the first Husky to surpass 2,000 passing yards since 2017 and helped the team finish with its most 30-plus point games since 2010. “

-> Thoren joins the Huskies after spending the 2023 season as a defensive senior analyst at Mississippi State. His focus was as an assistant linebacker coach, working with the top two tacklers in the SEC in Nathanial Watson (137 tkls) and Jett Johnson (130 tkls).<-
