-> UConn head football coach Jim Mora announced the program has received athletic aid agreements from 12 incoming student-athletes on National Signing Day. The newest members of the program represent seven states.<-

It looks like the only one previously announced who didn't sign today is Elijah Whitaker. Anyone have any intel of that?

He’s either waiting till the February period (he still has his UConn commitment pinned) or pursuing other opportunities. My sense is the latter. We’ll see.

-> The incoming class includes three defensive backs, two defensive linemen, two offensive linemen and a pair of linebackers, in addition to a tight end and a receiver. UConn also signed a quarterback, K’Saan Farrar, who is one of the top players at his position in the state of Virginia.

The newest members of the program hail from seven different states. None are from Connecticut.

Since seeing an increase in NIL money, beginning last offseason, coach Jim Mora and his staff have focused on the transfer portal as a main avenue for adding both talent and experience to their roster. But they have made clear the importance of building relationships and developing high school players. <-

Why would you feel bad about that? It's a pretty normal thing to do with recruits and recruiting.
I feel bad because it’s obvious that Mora has this program on an upward trajectory but I’m still gun-shy and jaded from the Edsall era. The wounds are still fresh from when we used to sign FCS caliber classes, and not good FCS classes at that. I’m absolutely psyched to see some serious offer lists on players coming to UConn next year

It’s got to be brutal to be a 3 Star and below recruit these days. Such small classes.
