-> The University of Connecticut football team has entered into an agreement to play two games against Wake Forest during the 2024 and 2028 seasons, as announced on Thursday.

The game in 2024 will take place on October 12 in Winston Salem, N.C. and the Demon Deacons will travel to East Hartford, Conn. on September 16, 2028. <-

3 ACC schools so far and drivable for most of them.

Didn't we initially have San Jose St. scheduled on that September 2028 date?

Solid game, a bit disappointed the return home game is 4 years after the initial game.

Wake's OOC schedule was already filled for 2025 & 2026...had a slot in 2027 and in 2028.

The Deacons have five games on with Army..2021-2026

This UConn alum ‘86’/‘90 and Demon Deac P’20 is so happy I can’t see straight

Since the UConn Declaration of Independence, multiple times I suggested scheduling possibilities involving many schools nationally with large Tri-state and New England alumni bases AND existing or targeted student recruiting. From a Wake FBSSchedule article:

"With so many Demon Deacon families and alumni in Connecticut, New England and the tri-state, we are excited to provide this home-and-home opportunity for Deacon Nation,” Wake Forest director of athletics John Currie said. “AD David Benedict leads a first-class athletics program at UConn and the opportunity to bring the Huskies and Demon Deacons together is great for college football.”

I have also made this point on this board. I say we just take credit for this and call it a day :)

This is a good pick-up: a beatable P5 school.

Another good get by AD Dave. We make a lot of sense for the ACC and really the Big as well. Relatively easy travel. Lots of alumni especially in Fairfield County to connect with.

I like this home and away. Helps us show we can play ACC schools. Hopefully, we will be in the conference in a few more years.
Honestly if we go anywhere it would probably be the B1G to shore up the NYC and New England market for the network.
