Would definitely like to see Geno get a guard in the 2013 class to be the eventual replacement for Bria. Getting a quality guard in 2013 would enable the player to get a years experience before getting a starting role.

Let's see now 12 on the roster...Kelly, Doty, Heather graduating, one recruit, Courtney Ekmark already signed for 2013....concentrating on Harper, Chong, McCall means minimum 10 on the roster in 2013-2014 if you don't get any of them or 13 if you get all three...seems like a good strategy to me.

I'm pretty sure they haven't a verbal from anyone in 2013. They did get one for 2014 in Ekmark.

Okay then scale down my comment by one...9 at the worse if they get no one. 12 if they get them all. And, maybe a surprise or two...one never knows... In any case I don't think the cupboard will be bare at UConn for quite some time.

No real surprise there. I wonder how confident the staff is of getting any of them. Not that the confidence would really matter - I think they were pretty sure Diamond was UCONN bound for quite a while. not sure when her mind shifted or eventually changed, but supposedly she was a UCONN lean for quite some time. I just hope we don't pitch a bagel for the class. Those 3 are elite players so it's not like we're looking at kids rated 50+ and getting none of them would be no big loss.

I agree on the point of no surprise and also wonder where we stand. I think we need 1-2. All 3 would be great.

Any 1, 2, or 3 of them would be great. Then concentrate on the 2104 class sounds like a good plan.

talk about getting a jump start on the competition :p

I may be in the minority but we could strike out in 2013 recruiting and I would still be extremely confident because our 2012 group is that good. 2014 is shaping up to be a huge year anyways. I would rank preference of the 3 in terms of talent and need at position as 1. McCall 2. Harper 3. Chong

I agree with your 1-2-3 ranking, but would be very happy with any/all.

I've been concerned about striking out. I don't think it will happen--I think we get 1 or 2. But we could. If we do strike out, the 2015-16 team will consist of Breanna, Morgan, Moriah, and Courtney plus indeterminate sophs and frosh. The 3 seniors should be fabulous, but will the sophs be ready for prime time? Will there be an uber frosh who is ready? I'd much prefer at least 2 seasoned and talented juniors in the mix. The 3 seniors will need at least 3-4 solid players behind them to win the NCAA title.

If we strike with the 2013 class we will only have 9 players for the 2013-2014 season. This would leave UCONN a little thin since you can never predict injuries.

I really do understand the discussions about the 2013 class and it's impact on the future, but when I read posts about the 2012 class being seniors when they haven't stepped foot on the court as a husky, well, I just shake my head. But that's just me.

I miss the days when we barely knew who they were recruiting and we just worried about the upcoming season.

Just looking ahead and worrying a little. :D

I agree--we have a lot of time, wins, and fun before then.

Did Maya leave yet, or is she still on campus? ;)

My comments were aimed at you, Milford. Just the recruiting stuff in general.
