In addition to offering the discount to season ticket holders they are offering $20 tickets on savenowct
http://savenowct.com/hartford/offers/1459

They obviously still need to work on their marketing but its a new step we haven't seen before and might encourage some to attend their first game

When was the last time the rent was sold out. Serious question. We need a big showing. Don't want to see empty seats on game day on abc. Also lets make an exception and get to your seats before kickoff. Did I just say that ?

This needs to reach the 30k who do not read the BY.

They need the airhorn they have at Rutgers. It's close to RE's call for a 'last call' in the parking lot.

Should have that dj blast the husky howl 1/2 hour before the game into the parking lots. Or all the BY's bring air horns and start the BY get your ass into your seats call. Get it in!

Been arguing this for years. 1 long howl @ hour before, 2 long howls @ 45 minutes before, 3 howls @ 30 minutes before and one long howl 15 minutes before.

I'm coming with 2 extra people this week.

AD needs a 360 marketing approach. It has to be more than ticket promotions. Really need to engage the state, make people feel like this is their team and that they are part of a bigger community that is working towards a common goal.

for those of you who purchased tickets through the link, where are your seats? Just wondering, as I already have my four tickets and will be at the rent no later than Noon for some wings, beer and FOOTBALL!!!

Good news, I hope. According to "Courant" Columnist, Colin McEnroe, (in a very negative column about "salary bloat" at UCONN) Prez Susan recently hired a real advertising executive. (McEnroe complained about the guy's salary and noted that, as far as he is concerned, the present Communications' Group is outstanding. He knows because he, "deals with them all the time.")

Two things. First, I am elated. Hopefully, the new guy will be able to inform the world about the incredible asset UCONN has become. No more "stealth" University.

Secondly, McEnroe's very short discussion (all related to money) of advertising/communications indicates, to me at least, that too many people in this State, including "opinion makers," are incredibly uninformed about the nature of the high-stakes game UCONN has entered; or, the consequences of too many more negatives.

Thankfully, Prez Susan seems to get it.

UCONN football ticket ads span the bottom of thefront page of the Connecticut Post sports section several times during home game weeks. The Connecticut Post that's published in Bridgeport. And which player's photo has been in each ad for the season? Nick Williams, not Trevardo Williams--that would be too logical. Just another reason why I hope the new "real" advertising executive can add some smarts to the process.

Today's ad is for $16 tickets, doesn't mention Senior Day at all. At least they have the date and game time right.

Howl fans: you can't hear Joe D's announcements if you're more than 100 yards from the stadium. Launch the fireworks every 15 minutes...that will get people's attention.
