Jerry Kill has resigned as Rutger's OC due to health reasons. If Diaco would have taken AD Dave's recommendation and hired Kill as UConn's OC Diaco would likely have stayed as HC. We can thank Diaco for his stubborness and egotistical stand against AD Dave's idea. Kill would have put in his system and then left after a year. UConn would have fallen deeper into the college football abyss.

Lets just hope Lashlee doesn't get poached now. You usually see a lot of coaches move after signing day. South Carolina has an OC opening but I think he leaves only for a HC job.

I've been watching Lashlee's twitter. He has one of the stranger "follows" pattern. Follows a lot of pretty reporters....and many new P5 coaches.

Honestly, getting one more year out of Lashlee is probably the best that we can hope for. He is still linked to the Auburn system and as Auburn continues to impress Lashlee's stock rises. Lashlee made the move to UConn to get out from under Malzahn's shadow and prove that he could turn an offense around and create something from nothing. He more than passed that test at UConn. My fear is that Chad Morris is the new HC at Arkansas will want an OC with Arkansas connections. Lashlee has also been mentioned as an OC candidate at South Carolina and Missouri. He knows the SEC which is a feather in his cap.

It comes down to whether he wants to parlay the UConn job into a high salary OC position in the SEC, or wait a year or two and make the move to HC in another conference. His move from Auburn OC to UConn OC shows that he has a long term plan and was willing to take a perceived step backwards to achieve his goals. I am sure AD Dave discussed these plans with Lashlee before the hire. His absolute control of the offensive scheme, his demeanor on the sidelines, and his coaching connections all point to his desire to be a head coach. Hopefully that means another year or 2 at UConn. A decent raise in January would help as he took a $250K paycut to come to UConn.

We may have dodged a bullet.

But we got hit with two nuclear warheads during the prior 6 years. It would have been nicer to dodge a warhead... ;)

Morris already has an OC at Arkansas, Joe Craddock, who followed him from SMU.

Personally, I think Lashlee stays as he needs to develop his own offense to ultimately become a head coach. Remember, Malzahn designed the offensive game plan and called the plays until the last 10 games of Lashlee's tenure at Auburn. Also, Auburn was a great running team and poor passing team and I think Lashlee wants to develop a better passing attack as part of his offense. (Auburn ranked #108, #67, #111, and #112 in passing offense during Lashlee's years.)

This season, Auburn had a better balance of rushing and passing (#22 rushing and #68 passing) and won the SEC West.

If he wanted to develop a passing attack, he succeeded so completely that he should go now before our passing numbers go way down without a QB.

Let's see how the OL , Running Game and QB Chart progress before we put the passing attack in the ICU.

Agree 100%. This is hopefully the first time UConn will have had no coaching changes for QB, RB, OL, and OC is an eternity. The kids will actually have time to improve upon last year vs. adjusting to a new coach.

This will be another feather in his cap BL...developing another QB. You haven't seen Marvin Washington either..a QB Lashlee personally recruited with Edsall..a QB who Frost wanted and had as a verbal...so I think you are going a tad bit out of bounds here...if things don't pan out after spring/pre-season ball then you may be on the money but until then I think you are off base on this one

Yup

Another good reason we know have Krajewski and there’s the Dec 20 early signing.

I want Lashlee to attain all of his personal goals ... but I’m greedy. Let’s get better in 2018.

Terrible news for Jerry Kill, I feel bad for him. He was an excellent head coach.
