Mired down here in North Carolina it was heartening to have the game broadcast on UConn+. The quality of the streaming was rather poor. The broadcast from the main cameras was fine, but when the went to the sideline or end zone cameras it was quite distorted. Another problem was that the first 3 UConn touchdowns didn’t show the entire play, but rather showed the UConn player in the end zone with the ball in his hand and the signal for the touchdown. Had to wait for the replay to determine how the play actually developed.

On the positive side I did get to watch the game and savor UConn football.

Watched via the WFSB website. Same as last year, found it clear, minimal delays/gaps, and only the incessant local announcers yapping leaned on annoying. Turned down the volume, happy with the result.

Having watched dozens of UConn Baseball, Softball, etc productions on UConn+ streams and not experiencing the issues like yesterday - It would be interesting for someone to follow-up w/ Dave Kaplan (AD Broadcast & Video Services @ UConn) for his perspective.

Is it because of a technology interface w/ WFSB/WWax OTA @ Rentschler or something else (besides the individual announcer idiosyncrasies) that filters through.

I set the Fubo to tape the game off the WAX. RECORDING stopped with 2 minutes left in regulation (3 hr. 14 min. mark)

Asked about this as an option during the chat. The consensus was there was only a single SD quality stream no matter how you access it.

Oh well, I'm still grateful to be able to watch the game in real time.

Same- WFSB had a quality stream
Perhaps, fewer people accessing via WFSB website vs the advertised sister WWAX or UConn+ app. Same as last year, I tried the latter with lesser quality. Purely anecdotal, but WFSB worked well. Rolled with what worked.

WAG, the UConn+ app servers may be OK with lower demand sports viewers vs inadequate with larger, one-off gridiron viewership. ? ? ?

Thank God David Benedict got us the CBS Sports contract.

Uconn+ had no video for me. I even asked their AI assistant who said there are no live streams on the app.

So poorly handled. I will listen to it on 97.9 next time if Wax is given a broadcast

To be fair, if someone literally does one game a year, you can’t expect the broadcast to be good. You’ve got a crew and on air folks who don’t work together at all and probably don’t have the technical resources that a network can pay for when it’s using the equipment every week.

That's my perspective. I expected a crappily produced production with sketchy video and I got it

I also know this is the only game this year which will be like this.

And as a Husky fan living g far away from CT I am grateful I can watch everyUConn game on TV.

All of the above was true - the DeMarcus Marcus mistake by the announcer gave me a good laugh. It was a perfect synopsis of the broadcast.

I would like to think that there were so many people watching that the servers couldn’t handle it Casio no the poor video quality.
