SCHEDULE NOTE | #UConn's game against Yale tomorrow will now be played at Adelphi University in Garden City, N.Y. Still a 3:30 p.m. start.

Relatively high temps later this week along with some rain so the fields should hopefully be clear for next Tuesday.

Central played some home games last week so there should be no issues for Wednesday's game.

Some of the most bizarre results I've ever seen... Lost to Richmond 30-2 (what???), beat Davidson 22-3 the same day, lost to Davidson 23-2 the following day, lost to duke 13-3 a couple of days later. Then the 23-8 game against Hartford last week.

They had 10 walks against Hartford which simply won't happen when UConn plays them. They have a team OPS of .776 and 2 homeruns despite 2 games with a total of 45 runs (they've only played 10 games so those 2 games had enough runs for their entire season). Hopefully Zapata is back to his old self and we're on the happy end of one of those 20 run drubbings.

Saw there was a new post and naturally assumed the game was cancelled/postponed. Relieved to see otherwise.

Up 3-0 in the first on the strength of a 2 out 3 run HR by McDowell. Great start.

Still in the first, 4-0 after a bases loaded walk to Hill. 5-0 after an infield single up the middle by Sundberg.

5-0 now. Bases loaded walk and a bases loaded infield single. Going into the bottom of the 1st.

Diving catch in foul territory by Davey ends the inning and gets Zapata out of a bases loaded jam. No runs scored. Still 5-0.

7-0 going to the bottom of the 4th. UConn has had chances to score more runs, though you can't complain about 7 runs in 4 innings.

Callahan Brown has finally made it to the mound! Two scoreless innings in the 6th and 7th with four strike outs. Another little used pitcher, Joe Rivera coming in to pitch the 8th.

Final score 18 - 1 . Had a total of 18 hits. Sienna 4 - 7 , but most impressed with Willy Yahn going 3 - 3 with a double and triple. Also nice to see Aaron Hill going 3 -5 as Dan Hurley with a double.

And redshirt freshman Sam Nepiarsky made his debut pitching a 1-2-3 9th inning. Good to see all these pitchers get a chance today.

Central (and Hartford) both play on field turf. As we saw from the UConn baseball twitter photos from Seton Hall this past weekend, a field turf facility can have snow removed relatively quickly.

As was today's game... We need the MLB boys to write a check for state of the art field turf when the renovations start @ J.O. Christian (it's easy to spend other's peoples money;))

Not only that but Yahn had 3 walks so he was on base all 6 times. And in return maybe it has put a spark in Hill that if he wants to play he needs to start hitting and it was contagious as he gets 3 hits. Nice to see all the hitting and Brown and Napiersky see some time pitching today and doing well.

Penders indicated in the post game interview that he wants to get Hill some playing time to keep him ready. Penders also mentioned that Daniello is not physically ready to play every single game at short (a different preparation than at third base, I suppose), so Hill will probably get some playing time there on those days in place of Daniello. Chris Jones was guessing that DeRoche-Duffin might get another day off after getting the hit by pitch in the helmet over the weekend, so Hill might see more Dan Hurley action tomorrow.

Crap I did not realize Yahn went to Housy - from my neck of the woods. Very cool.
