I would be inclined to put Simmons in the 2 spot in the order due to all the walks he takes, but I suspect the coaching staff wants Simmons, a lefty hitter, in the middle of the order to spread those guys out a bit. Plus Morton might not walk as much as Simmons, but if Morton hits like he did last season, he will certainly be getting on base, plus his speed has the potential to drive the opposition a bit crazy.
