Also, this specific school had a sizable role in our current conference affiliation.

Clemson probably wasn't our first or second or third choice. It wouldn't surprise me if Penn St, Rutty, Maryland and others competing for NJ talent said no.

We need the money, we need to have something interesting on the horizon.

I have mixed feelings about this. It's a cool opponent and a nice chunk of change, however it saddens me that we are officially a "buy game." I never thought I'd see us at this level.

Hopefully there's another part of this deal, similar to the UMass/UGA deal. UGA goes up to Amherst for a basketball game this season and UMass plays a football game down there in 2018.
