A lot of these type of players who would have been no brainers for affiliated teams a few years ago now have to go to Indy ball due to the reduction in affiliated teams in 2021. The domestic reserve list, which governs a total amount of players any team can roster, has cut from 190 to 165 since then so that is basically 25 guys per team x 30 teams, 750 fewer affiliated players. A lot less opportunity for UDFA guys to find affiliated homes now but it can be done
