I am generally really happy with the way Geno handles individual stats - he may leave a player in for a few more minutes if some milestone is available, but having given a few extra chances he pulls them and follows standard rotational practices. I feel that things like Courtney's consecutive double doubles streak which is an NCAA record (not a school one) is a little diminished by having been prolonged by keeping her in games to the waining moments when the outcome was long decided purely to allow her to collect the points or rebounds to preserve it.

I do however feel bittersweet about last nights game and Stewarts shot at a quadruple double. There have been a total of three official ones in the history of D1 WCBB and one unofficial one (prior to assist or steals being considered official NCAA stats.) The last quadruple double was recorded in 1992-1993 season 23 years ago. While I would not have liked Stewart to play all of the remaining minutes (11) in pursuit of the three assist and one block required, giving her an additional 4 minutes or so for a chance to join such an elite group would not have seemed excessive. And giving her a few minutes for a chance to get a triple double to join the few at Uconn who have done it would also have been nice.
