This is fantastic news scheduling wise. Always nice to be able to schedule a traditionally middle-of-the-pack ACC teams. Being able to get power for teams on the schedule especially in November is always a boost for the program.

Duke is having a great season but I honestly believe that we will be the stronger program when these games roll around.
If you were talking basketball I'm all in, football I'm more on hope than believe.

Great news. I hope we keep Duke on the schedule. I'd like to see Cuse and Pitt on there too.
Also I'd like the to get North Dakota on their schedule as I am doing my PhD here and would love to watch them both at The Rent.

Always interesting to watch the independent schedule come together. 2026 now has 12 games on the schedule w/ the addition of Duke. However, there is no "money game", so I would suspect a little more shuffling around of the schedule for 2026.

Interestingly, there is also no "money game" for next year. It will be interesting to see what how the conference changes in 2024 and beyond impact UConn.

We have 5 home games and 7 road games. I hope of the G5 home games gets rescheduled as I don’t want to lose any on the 5 P4 games.

IMO the goal continues to be 6 P4 H/H series yearly (3H/3A). We are getting closer to that. All 5 P4 games in 2026 are H/H.

We can fill in the other six games with UMass, an FCS team, two MW/Pac-12 teams, and two other regional teams (Temple, Buffalo, USF, etc.).

Hopefully, we can get Temple to switch the 26/27 series H/A.

Can we all agree that the independent schedule is much better than what an AAC schedule would look like?
I said this from the beginning. We would never be able to schedule 5 P4 opponents playing in a G5 league.

No AAC team ever created a buzz. I do think scheduling will be more of a challenge as the P3.5 takes shape and ESPN and CBS want more bang for the buck with top level OOC games

In theory but so far we are what, 1-10 vs P4-5 teams since doing this. We really need to win some of those games. Sorry, but we need to be competitive in most otherwise just call CUSA and build a 20000 seat stadium on campus. Who cares if folks from Fairfield County can’t get there. Maybe play for a championship now and again. Get a tourney bid. Maybe upset someone in the first round.
