Is it just me, or is UConn just a million times more effective against pressing/trapping teams this season compared to last year? Tiff and Kelly seem more comfortable anticipating where the pressure will come from and getting the ball away from those points. Bria, who basically abdicated her point guard duties against Georgetown last year, is now very much at ease. Obviously, adding Caroline back into the mix helps. Even Banks seems to handle the press pretty well, and Kaleena though she doesn't have primary ball-handling responsibilities, gets in good position to receive the ball and make sure her teammates don't get into trouble in the backcourt.
This improvement dramatically increases the chances of the team making it to Denver. Pressing and trapping is an equalizer for inferior teams to try to keep games low-scoring and ugly, and if you can overcome that, no upset is likely in regional play.
