Does anyone know if its a sellout?
It may be, I know last year vs Harvard was pretty close. Something like 9.5k, regardless of seats sold though it probably wont be a packed house. At least the second student section on the opposite baseline will be sparse. It was interesting when checked ticket prices tonight was way cheaper than Saturday vs UCF. Is that just because its a league thing?Does anyone know if its a sellout?
Agreed about it being a must win with the schedule they having coming up. They also will have only have so many opportunties against Top 50 RPI teams the rest of the year.there were some tickets left last night. Generally single/a few seats in the upper sections though they were fairly plentiful in one corner, I want to say Sec 207 but that might be wrong.
This is about as close to a must win as we'll ever see this early in the season. A team we've never lost to at least in the "modern" era coming into town with a very solid basketball team. A loss here, with a trip to Memphis and Louisville coming in over the next week could leave us in a very deep hole. UCF is really the only game where we'll be favored. And after the Houston debacle, even that's no guarantee on the road. A loss tonight and this year begins to feel and look an awful lot like 2007. FWIW, I think we'll pull it out.

Hope we have a loud, energized crowd tonight.

If we lose at home to Harvard the panic button needs to be driven into the ground. idc how formidable they seem.
I watched them the other day against BC and they are an extremely well disciplined, good basketball team. They are on the small side, play 4 guards a lot, which should help us a little with our rebounding, but they will be no pushover. Harvard is not Yale by a long shot.If we lose at home to Harvard the panic button needs to be driven into the ground. idc how formidable they seem.
It won't be panic time because we lose to Harvard. They are a good basketball team. The problems will be 3 consecutive losses and looking at two very difficult games coming up. Losing this one means almost no margin for error going forward. This will be a tough game, so I don't think the panic button is necessarily required if UConn loses. In fact, it will probably be the "best" loss so far this season, if it happens. Harvard is a likely tournament team, and is better than SMU, Stanford and Houston. In fact, Harvard is ranked higher than UConn in most computer rankings right now:
Real Team RPI:
Harvard 29
UConn 43
SMU 45
Stanford 90
Houston 207
KenPom Rating:
Harvard 26
SMU 39
UConn 44
Stanford 54
Houston 150
Sagarin Rating:
Harvard 31
UConn 47
SMU 49
Stanford 62
Houston 151
So while I'm hoping that UConn rights the ship and can get this quality win, I'm not going to be shocked or surprised if UConn loses, nor would it be "panic time."
I know Harvard is good. But match wise, it couldn't be sweeter. We don't have to worry about getting destroyed on the glass. If we lose tonight , we're losing to teams with AND without size. Honestly if this isn't a comfortable win ill be dissapointed.I watched them the other day against BC and they are an extremely well disciplined, good basketball team.
