UConn 2026 Outbound Portal Transfers (*No transfer speculation until announced/posted*)

you are probably right, Mora has been reading the BY and wants to improve his sullied reputation. All is forgiven !!
Who knows whether he actually did or not but he knows the people at the university, the facilities, the reputation of the school and that its a great campus. And he enjoyed his time here. Maybe he is a good guy who who help a kid make a life decision by sharing his experiences.

Also what is there to forgive? That he hurt the feelings of people on the internet because of his job change.

Relax, the whole issue was split down the middle and is now a matter of jest.

So assuming they have eligibility left, and they are both in the portal, I think the two remaining targets who helped us when they were on the field from scrimmage are Murphy at WR and Ty Mills at Safety. But it's not just about whether a player is helpful -- it's about whether it's worth the money it will cost to keep them.

Y'all people are twisting yourselves into pretzels to find fault with the guy. Are you all really so loyal to your corporate over lords?

He's not encouraging kids to leave, they already entered portal! That suggests that they are interested in leaving.

You have no idea if these players were asked to enter the portal by the new staff or not. Don't you think Candle and staff would be the first ones to talk to the player about staying?

Everyone just wants think the worst and be angry. Y'all are insufferable sometimes.
If I could like this post 100 times I would. My sentiments exactly.

Tunde had one offer coming out of high school, UConn. The coach that recruited him is now gone, and the one here likely doesn't see a path to playing time for him. He's in the portal for a reason, he will likely move down to the FCS level. This type of tweet has been pretty standard from Mora, at least when it comes to guys in Tunde's situation. As BL said above, he's showing loyalty to a guy who worked hard at practice the past couple seasons despite never seeing the field.

It's a kind gesture to help a young man secure his future a bit. Yet people want to take Mora over the coals for it, lmao

Nice, I like Hoffman. I remember him having a couple TFLs last year, I think against FIU, when the rest of the D Line had been struggling to generate pressure and thinking he should probably play more.

Solid depth piece, at minimum

I imagine that for likely close to a year or so Gonzaga basketball fans held s bit if animosity towards Dan Monson for leaving them. I would wager heavily that for the past quarter century those same fans have viewed it as a blessing as they realized not long after his replacement (Mark Few) took over that it was immensely better for their program.

Personally I am very grateful for what Mora did for our program, but I view our ceiling as being far higher today than I viewed it after we (barely) beat FAU.

Mora will turn 65 this year and it was inevitable that he was going to leave UConn either due to his age or due to his desire to go out West. He did a great job of turning around and stabilizing UConn football and we all should be grateful for that. I think he was resource constrained at UConn which lead to him hiring young inexpensive coaches and recruiting relatively inexpensive players in the portal which meant he hit his ceiling at UConn without more resources. I've been impressed with Candle's coaching hires and his portal recruiting so it appears there are more resources now for UConn football. I think we should thank Mora for what he accomplished and be excited for the future with Candle.
