UConn’s Nancy Stevens, 3x National Champ and the winningest coach in NCAA field hockey history has announced her retirement.

From this story:

>Stevens' long-time assistant coach, Paul Caddy, has been named as her successor and Stevens will remain involved with the program as a volunteer assistant coach.<

I can only cut and paste so fast on the fly...

CL82: “Oh no!… What?… Wait... I guess that’s OK.”

Tell me about it, I've been there. I saw the story on the Courant website a couple of hours ago at work. I completely forgot about it when I got home about an hour ago when I saw that UConn baseball had gotten a couple new commitments from recruits.

Why did Nancy come to UConn in the first place? I'm glad that she did but she appeared to have a promising career at Northwestern as well and that is a better academic institution. Perhaps she wanted to return to the Northeast.

Northwestern was too far from the beach.
