Stanback is a beast as UConn saw; but, in a year or two at the college level, I expect that he would be flagged on this play as he lowered his helmet to use it as a ‘weapon’ to knock the defensive player back and initiated helmet to helmet contact. While the focus is on protecting players on the offense from head shots right now, the very real threat of repetitive concussions injuries (and their lawsuits) will eventually eliminate players on both sides of the ball from dropping their head in this manner soon.
