Oregon State leads 21-9 early in 2Q.

I'm loving the color commentary by Layshia Clarendon. Great insights from a WNBA All-Star.

Not a marquee opponent by any stretch, but Scott Rueck continues to demonstrate why he's a great coach. Lots of new faces making big contributions. This is the first game where freshman Taya Corosdale has started.

Really slow start for the Beavs, but they got it rolling in the 2nd quarter. Knocking down just about all of their 3's. Gulic has a really nice 15-18 foot shot. OSU has given up way too many O boards but it's not really hurting them much tonight.

Kinda cruddy 3rd quarter so far. OSU isn't real sharp this game, I was expecting a better performance from them. Maybe playing at the Moda Center in Portland is throwing them off a bit.

Aleah Goodman can really stroke the ball. Leading the nation currently hitting about 60% on 3's. She doesn't seem to be getting any publicity nationally but she should be.

OSU finished w/ a bit of a flurry, leading 62-37 after 3 Q.

Basically OSU played a really good 2nd quarter. Otherwise somewhat lackluster. UCSB is only 1-7, Beavers should be beating them by 40 or 50 like several of their previous games.

Oregon State's OOC schedule except for the Notre Dame and Duke games has been especially weak, with 6 of 8 opponents near the very bottom of D-1.

But their next game against undefeated UC Davis will be a good test.

Yeah, the opponents have been weak. They've been crushing most of them. Tonight they played fairly down to their competition. Second half was about even. Not a very impressive showing.

Been to all the Beaver home games this season. Worst performance this year. OSU gave up 17 offensive rebounds....that's offensive. Stood in line waiting to get in with Scott Rueck's wife (why did she have to stand in line outside in the cold?). She said coaches really impressed with Aleah Goodman (as am I). This kid is a rock, plays with an unbelievable amount of confidence for a freshman. Not afraid to shoot, and great court vision. Putting this one down to being overwhelmed playing at the home of the Portland Trailblazers. Defense/Rebounding, normally OSU strengths are currently their weaknesses. Much to work on, but this team has great potential, and, a coach who has continued to impress me with his recruiting, and, getting most out of his team's potential. PAC 12 play will be a great measuring stick for this team.
