One boneyarder sees SC in an upset. Would be interesting to see what factors would contribute to this kind of unexpected road victory for the Trojans.

If Pili is still out, I give USC almost no chance in this one.

Arizona hasn't looked great so far, but I think they actually have better ingredients than last year's team and it's just a matter of them having some time to gel. I think eventually they will start to live up to the high expectations for them.

Brutally ugly start to this game. I'm trying to watch, but I'm not sure how long I can stick with it.

Okay, the action is picking up and both teams starting to hit some shots. Cats up 17-15 nearing end of Q1.

Glad I kept watching, because it's an entertaining game now. 21-19 Trojans thru Q1.

I'm not saying anything...but I will point out that the Arizona announcer is noting a lot more whistles are going against Arizona than USC.

Start of Q2 is unwatchable again. More of a scrum than a basketball game.

27-25 USC. Arizona looks like much less than the sum of the parts. Yeaney in particular seems to be having trouble fitting in so far. She's active on defense, but on offense she just doesn't seem to know where to be or what to do.

37-34 USC at the half. Arizona is frustrating, just seem to be out of sync most of the game. USC has had some turnover problems but are shooting the ball well.

Arizona is not a top 10 team. Stanford & Oregon are the only top 10 teams in the PAC-12 thus far.

Have to agree. I still think they have the potential, but they are not even close to being there currently.

After two quarters of play the boneyarder who predicted an SC seems perceptive. Several comments on the first half of discussion talked about brutal and ugly. I seem to recall those terms also used in describing ASU.

I missed all of Q3. Looks like McDonald and Reese got going and Arizona surged ahead, but USC tied it up again. Cats up 3 now w/ about 2 minutes left.

Is this the play of the number seven ranked team in the nation?

Arizona hangs on 78-77. Not exactly impressive. McDonald outran the defense for the final 5 seconds, they couldn't catch her to commit a foul.

30 for McDonald, 25 for Reese, 12/12 for Ware.

18 each for Rogers and Jackson, 15 for Sanders.

Feel bad for USC. They always seem to be playing with 7 players.

Uarizona may not be ready for prime time...Stanford or Oregon.

Totally expected. No experience being a favorite. Only the one OOC game against NAU, not the quality of a PAC team and after that game Adia said if we played the way we did we would lose to almost any PAC team.

l am not getting to see these games, but I expected us to struggle. Not because we actually lost so many players, but because we are depending on a different support cast to Reese and McDonald.

Coach Barnes have so many excellent pieces. I think the challenge of trying to coach and play basketball during a pandemic really is reflected on the lack of progress with the cats.

I suspect you could watch the cats play on live stream. I've been very pleased to be able to watch both NAU and ASU. The Big Sky live streams all conference games and the home team for non-conference games can decide whether or not to live stream. ASU also has a live stream option so I'd be surprised if you Uarizona doesn't.

The Cats really are loaded. I think part of it is adjusting to different playing styles particularly with the number of transfers they've brought in.

Also the level of expectations may be pressuring the players in the program. McDonald is a projected top five WNBA pick and Reese and Thomas showed strong potential last year.

I'm really looking forward to their play against the top tier teams. One reason for hope if you're a Cat's fan was their gutty performance against UCLA Although ASU revealed UCLA's weaknesses yesterday.

Pretty much agree with everything.

Some games are live-streamed but so far as I know if the game is "controlled" by the PAC 12 network, then it is not (or rather, you have to have the network to get it online). I "think" some services bypass that (we used to have Roku and were able to watch a football game that was on the PAC network) but we currently have nothing like that. Basically, because we have the TV on most of the time.

Just to be clear, we are rarely watching the regular stations, but we watch a lot of sports (I can tape 9 feeds at once and we have NFL Sunday Ticket), a lot of HGTV and some Food Network. 60 Minutes and some other news specials from time to time. Bill Maher, John Oliver and Colbert's Late Show for some humor. So there isn't a lot of time to stream a game that happens when it happens.

Lol. I had to smile when you said very little time to stream a game. Since I've been retired I can't believe how busy I am. Can't hardly find time to watch women's basketball.

Thursday afternoon I bet we both are watching the big Uarizona ASU game. Based on our relative performances against the SoCal schools it may be a game that's closer than really should be.

Iris Mbulito went down with a shoulder injury so she may not play Thursday.

The path to victory for the Sun Devils is very narrow. It would require the Cats to get in foul trouble early, the pace to be extremely slow, Eboni Walker to play the game of her life, the Devils hitting 10 threes and keeping turnovers under 10, and Aari to sprain both ankles during pre-game warm-ups. Since the likelihood of all these happening simultaneously Thursday is close to zero I'm expecting the Cats to win their fourth straight against ASU.

Barnes has done a remarkable job in Tucson.
