USA has an early game on 4th of July;

USA if they win, will play the winner of the Japan and Hungary game. Hungary should easily win this game.

All Games http://www.fiba.com/world/u17women/2014/fullschedule

Czech Rep. vs Australia should be an interesting game. Scheduled for 12 Noon.

Spain vs France should be a Spain win. Will watch the Margin of Victory.

Hungary pulls away late to win 61-51. Japan had their chances, but Hungary hit some timely 3's to pull away. Hungary now waits on the winner of USA vs Canada for the Semi Finals tomorrow

USA Leads 16-5 after 1st quarter. USA started slowly but started playing better offense in the last few minutes. Playing great defense against Canada. USA owning the boards has contributed to the lead.

The only reason this game is within reach for Canada is USA's missed layups. Score 24-9 with 5:30 left until half. USA has missed at least 8 layups.

USA will still easily win this game by 25+ points.

Canada so far is shooting 4-28. Great Defense by Team USA and also missed point blank shots by Canada.

USA leads 41-14 at the half. Should probably change the margin of victory from 25+ points to 40+ points. USA's size and great defense is really bothering Canada. USA owning the Boards.

Katie Samuelson great 1st half with 10 points on 4-6 shooting. Arike Ogunbowale also good 1st half with 12 points

Like the half time music :)

The more I see of Ionescu, the more I like her.

And Holmes.

Canada has no answer for USA size and talent. Doesn't matter who Team USA brings off the bench, they're able to score. USA out scored Canada 27-12 in the 3rd Qtr. USA Leads 68-26. Could we have another 50 point blow out. Looks like it.

Canada showing signs of life. :) Have outscored USA 7-2 to start 4th quarter. May not be a 50 point blowout.

Dominating win by Team USA. Final Score 86 - 45

USA with too much talent. Canada had no chance.

I'm presuming USA will meet Spain for the Gold Medal. It will be interesting to see if USA's superior talent will win out over the team IMHO who has played the best team ball in the tournament Spain.

However, USA plays Hungary in the Semi-finals tomorrow. Game Time not announced yet.

I thought Joyner Holmes was clearly the best player on the court in the second half. Very similar to Boykin, but Holmes seems more advanced in all her skills (especially scoring) despite being a class behind. I wonder where (if anywhere) she is on UConn's recruiting radar.

Lauren Cox is impressive. She runs the floor extremely well, she can dribble the ball, she's an excellent rebounder and shot blocker. What she needs to improve is her mid range jump shot. She is going to be a force in college. Glad Katie Lou did not hurt her ankle.
