"Davis said his decision ultimately came down to ODU and UConn, which offered him a scholarship last month, three days after Quarterbacks coach Don Patterson watched him throw in person.


“I knew right away,” Davis said. “I thought I’d commit early because I know it’s the right place for me and I could help guys try and come with me to UConn. I’ve been talking to a bunch of guys to join the bandwagon and turn UConn into what it was four years ago when it was playing in the Fiesta Bowl against Oklahoma. We’re going to do that soon.”

My hope is by enrolling early and then redshirting and learning, he will be ready to be a big time contributor as a redshirt freshman. He does not look super fast, but he does a great job of setting up blocks running the ball. And with his height, he can basically gain 3 yards just falling forward. Once he gets his footwork and mechanics down, sky is the limit, imo. We already know he is a high character, enthusiastic kid.
