Two Weaknesses Needing a Fix

Your first point: Solo Ball.

Your second point: maybe…missing open guys happens in a motion-style offense with so many cutters. Seton Hall’s defense is rare in that they apply so much pressure, yet help quick enough to prevent open looks.

Free throw shooting is not going to change at this point unfortunately.

Outside of Reed, the starting 5 shoots a good percentage.
 
We reduced turnovers against St. John’s but saw them again yesterday. The Hall is very angressive and defends well but Tarris putting the ball on the floor and they strip. Coaches must tell them when he tries to dribble just dig at waist level. He needs the ball so I don’t see a solution here.

He and Karaban had 4 TOs each, so more than half of the 15 TOs were Reed and Karaban (Ball had 3). Karaban is normally not that loose with the ball. I agree on Seton Hall, they are a very unique team. They go like 9 deep of the same player--they don't have great starters but don't lose anything with their bench (most teams have a drop-off when they go to the bench), to their 9 guys just give all they have for all 40 minutes. Couple that with having a week off to prepare and UConn having to play a very emotional game on Wednesday, and you get what you got yesterday.

I have felt that all season. I am not sure if it’s personal or not, but there have been many examples of Silas passing the ball to a guarded Solo over Mullins. Truth is, whether it’s running specific sets or a conscious decision to get him the ball, Mullins has to be more involved primarily in second half. He is so good, on most nights he should be a top 2 scorer. We are better if that happens.

The issues have always been turnovers and FT shooting.

Turnovers - I think is an area we will improve on in March.

FTs - it is what it is. You pretty much have to count on 50% from Tarris who gets to the line more than any other player by far.

The TOs are about Reed too. He goes through stretches where his hands are greased and he looks like he is playing on ice.
 
I felt like Reed was playing with mittens on yesterday. Not just the turnovers but he was not catching passes clean or rebounds.

we have under utilized Mullins all year. There are a few reasons for that. Go back and rewatch film before you try to trigger another false narrative.

Mullins and Solo are blanketed at the 3 and that’s with extensive screening for them. All I can think is for him to drive to where he can pull up for a 2. He’s going to make 60+ % of those shots probably.

There is a wide gap between "we're under utilizing Braylon Mullins" and "we're under utilizing Braylon Mullins because Silas Demary Jr doesn't like him". The first one is a perfectly valid take, the second one which you have now doubled down on is asinine

There's also a big gap between "doesn't like him" (noted as a spontaneous thought upon no basis) and "hatred." It's a bad game of telephone, though the essential point is clear: it's March 1st, and the team is 27-3.

I'm not sure how you can say the defense is fine? We give up a lot of easy shots. Big difference on how Seton guards and how we guard.
