Not one to agonize over a victory. The final score belies UConn's total control for most of the game. Happy for the victory as it gives hope in a push to a 6 win season & qualification for a post-season invite.
The final drive would have been moot if the Huskies could have gotten a touchdown on either of the drives where they settled for field goals after having 1st & goal inside the 5 yard line. This game underscored the offensive line's inability to run block consistently. Hopefully this will get turned around as the linemen mature. UConn's reputation on offense was built on the line opening holes for it's rb's to run with abandon.
Last observation: When UConn settled for the final field goal after the false start penalty, everyone in my group was wondering why Sherriffs had been lined up in Spread formation for 4 downs so close to the goal line instead of under center. Fourth down looked like a Chinese fire drill & the off side jump was predictable.
If he had been lined up under center, it might have had a settling effect & a better outcome. But,who am I to 2nd guess the coaching staff?

He was under center on third down. If Sherriffs doesn't fire the second down pass to a wide open Davis into the ground none of that matters. This is what we are right now. We could have a better record if..... But our line features a 260 pound guard.

There are a lot of young guys on the field especially on defense. The most concerning thing to me was the DBs kept letting Tulsa behind the defense in the prevent on the last drive. That was inexcusable.

But let's be happy with the win and the -wait for it- winning streak.

Agreed Palatine... Our DBs can't let that happen.. They seem to be a step behind in terms of getting their heads around to find the football as well...

Yup

On the long runs ... I yearned to see first Newsome and then Beals later get into the end zone. After three 6 yard passing TDs against Temple, we seemed to not have the capacity to repeat that nor drive a few yards to capitalize on the inside the 10 position.

Yes. It would not have been so stressed at the end if we had scored 7 on those earlier opportunities
