for Nneka Oguwmike

Tina did post a tweet that said She guessed she'll be living in LA Link

Balanced Trade for both teams as both are great players. Sparks really don't need Parker and Nneka and could use a better center. Nneka will be better utilized on the Sun. However, leaves a huge hole with the Center position.

Its been rumored that Tina has not been happy with Sun Management since they fired Mike Thibault.

Guess we'll find out soon if the rumor is true.

Makes sense to me as long as they get Ogwumike and further players. Parker and Charles and the supporting cast of players could be co-favorites to win it all. The Sun GM blew it when he didn't resign Thibault and hired Donovan. Lawson, Montgomery, and Jones have all been rumored as not returning. Looks like a major rebuilding project for the Suns.

Speculating, could it be a multiple player deal. For example, Charles and Montgomery for Ogwumike, Toliver and Lavendar?

Hey, can we ask for the Pacific Ocean also in the trade?........The WNBA is struggling to draw in most cities, bcause its a very watered down product after these players get beat up in Europe..........I understand why, but as a fan, we get cheated every year.........

I hope this is just a rumor. Because if they trade Charles frees them up to draft a center with there lottery pick. No!!! I do not want Stef to be stuck on a team with Anne Donovan as coach.

Holy crap! Blowing it up I guess :(.

Chris Sienko, you started the wrecking ball swinging by firing Coach T (arguably one the the top 3-5 in the league) with no apparent 'better choice' in hand, and with no apparent communication with your star players. A completely mis-managed situation. You've alienated your top talent, and made it more difficult to attract quality free agents to the Sun (a tough task already).

If true, this better not turn out to be another Katie Douglas "trade" (read: "give-away"). As good as Nneka is, Tina is worth far more. My gosh, she's a young player who was league MVP, a UConn alum, and a dub-dub machine. If the Sun don't come out of this a better team than 2012, it is a disaster at many levels and Sienko should be fired.

The only potential ray of dim sunshine for fans may be if the Ogwumike sisters are reunited in CT. At least that would be an interesting story line. Just a dice roll at this point (appropriate, I guess).

Specifically to your point, the growth of Rutgers grad Tammy Sutton-Brown under Donovan when she coached the Charlotte Sting was exponential. However, I think TSB's skill set was much more traditional than Dolsen's (sp?).

Like all coaches, Donovan has certain talents (she did win a gold medal and WNBA championship), however, I don't really see her as someone who I would want coaching "my" team - I was still rooting for the Liberty during her brief stint there and wasn't thrilled.

I like Anne a lot as a person -- she's direct to the point of un-politic bluntness.

I can't begin to speak to her skill set as it relates to the Sun, but I wonder how much having a team leader like Charles bail on her most of the season impacted the play of the rest of the team.

A Tina to LA for Nneka would be a big old loss for the Sun and huge for LA. (Don't know if it can happen with the CBA in negotiation.)

Trade could be agreed upon and formalized following CBA approval.

If the O sisters both go to the Sun aren't they stuck with the same problem as LA has now? Two redundant forwards and no center?

Nneka is a huge talent, as is Charles, but there are a lot more great 4's in the W (and wcbb) than there are great 5's. The Sun need to be told about supply and demand.

I think there is less interest in competitivness in this than in a desire by league officials to promote the LA market. It's the same reason the Lakers, despite rarely having a high draft pick, always seem to "aquire" superstars.

The W is one business with franchises, and sometimes it looks to me like some franchises are more equal than others.

hard to find any support for your implications -- Indy, Minny and Atlanta are NOT huge market franchises and yet compare their success to NY and LA...

Chiney is just about as big as Tina, and more athletic. I think she'll do fine at the 5 if asked to play there.

Tina made a lot of comments this season hinting that she might not want to be back. If she's being traded, it's definitely because she wants to be.

Nneka would be good return for Connecticut. On a team like the Sun, where she would need to play more minutes and get more touches, she averages around 18 and 10, which is what she averaged in the games Parker missed.

It's just my uninformed opinion but I don't think many of these trades are done for strictly competitive reasons. In the NBA, superstars end up in Sunbelt cities. That's not an accident. If I was W player making 10% of what my Euro team pays me I might ask to at least play somewhere advantageous to either my lifestyle or my pocketbook.

Dear Connecticut Sun:
-Speaking merely as a fan, my interest in the Connecticut Sun will remain directly proportionate to the number of Connecticut Huskies on the Sun. Period.
-Good luck with your efforts to improve the team.

I pay almost no attention to WNBA, but what little I do pay belongs mostly to the Sun. The coaching change was disturbing, in large part because of Donovan's fiasco with Seton Hall. even granted she had no team, she did not seem to do much to improve them. Just don't think much of her coaching. As for this trade, we probably will have to wait to see how it turns out. For myself, I would prefer to see Stef, my all-time favorite player, go somewhere else.

Nneka's great. But neither she nor her sister (nor both of them) equals arguably the best enter in the world. This must be about Tina's being very unhappy with Sienko or Donovan or the current Sun in general and having the leverage to do something about it, because, absent another shoe about to drop, it makes no basketball sense at all. (And that would have to be some shoe.)

Seton Hall, a once proud basketball program men's and women's, is not a program that is going to be turned around in a year. One can hardly be blamed for not improving the program and/or for not sticking around more than a year.

I half agree. Do you think Donovan thought she was going to improve the program in year, make a contribution and leave? Or is it possible she saw a salary there, realized it was conveniently metro NY, figured she'd do what she could for however long and then grab a pro deal when it was offered? I'm betting Door Number Two, myself.

I don't have a lot of sympathy for Seton Hall, whose average budget for WCBB seems to be about $32, but she entered a program that had suffered with years of neglectful underfunding and a coach of questionable skills and made things worse by promising lots and giving nothing

Now, you can say, "Oh, well. That's business." And certainly Seton Hall must have thought of this possibility and decided to take the risk. But still, this is just another example of coaches with zero loyalty to a program coming and going, disrupting players' lives and offering false hope to the faithful .

Wasn't Donovan coaching NY before the gig at SH? She left the latter for the former-- unless it was clear to her at she would be fired. And I cannot blame her for jumping ship again after the BE collapsed. Who would want to be caught dead at SH in this new BE conf. They are forever dead. Her coaching hx is nothing to be ashamed about. We do not know the real reason for the coaching change at the Suns, but there are any number of question marks regarding that Organiz. It is the top floor that should be dust and stop acquiring these post-Uconn players. The latter is the biggest myth being perpetuated. You cannot duplicate UCONN. Moore (Minn)and Hayes (Atl) are shining because they are the straws turning the drinks (no disrespect to their equals). I would think that Tina is doubtful about winning a championship with the Suns-- Moore and Hayes accomplishments are probably knawing at her.

Sigh...I do not want to root for LA. Seriously, I'd rather our alum were concentrated.
It's not a happy circumstance having Sue vs Diana vs Maya vs Tina, and that's just the west.

Be careful on things said about mgt. I got a pretty strong letter from down mohegan way. however I was directed I'm not allowed to post or forward any of it.

Regardless of what happens with tina I hope the sun not only get back to winning but turn around their continuing fall in attendance year after year since about 2009

What are they going to do? Ban any fan who criticizes management from attending games? An attitude like that will eventually get you about 5 fannies in the seats...

When Tulsa fired their coach someone suggested that AD go there. I offered the opinion to send the G.m. It didn't go over well. I didn't use any bad language but do believe that the position is where the ultimate buck stops.. On the court with the coach and players and off the court in attendance.

We have many UConn players and keep falling in attendance. the email I received said it was directed at me and only me. as a fan I found that very upsetting. I do not work for the team nor the league and receive nothing

We traded to get Tina. look where we are and look where the lynx are. Both as a team and in fans. I expect more. time for new blood to bring new energy
