When @UConnFootball scores at The Rent we ring the victory bell. We're looking to #RingTheBell in everything we do. pic.twitter.com/kTIrJjDYab

@UConnFootball #RingTheBell in 2013!

Coach Jon Wholley@JonathanWholley 56s
Camp starts today! Everything we do, we are trying to score!! #RingTheBell

That was in a span of about 37 seconds

Wholley/Buggs get it... Not sure who's the ghost writer for PP.

As long as they stick it in and ring the damn bell more often than last year - I'm good!

Oh I'm good with it too, I think its great

It's just weird to think of HCPP sitting behind a computer tweeting....even though you have to know its not really him

He's a Facebook guy though... ;)

"For me, Facebook is kind of my primary communication source," Pasqualoni said. "I can't text them, you all know that, but I can e-mail them and for some reason, Facebook and e-mail go together." Despite not exactly being a computer-savvy head coach, Pasqualoni has sent out, and received, plenty of "friend requests" to his incoming freshman class and others, potentially in line for 2014, 2015 and beyond. "So for me, with recruiting, it's Facebook," Pasqualoni said.

For players already in the Huskies system, texting is still the way to go. "When I need them, I text them. When I have to talk to them, I text them," Pasqualoni said. "They know, when the coach texts you, you respond, quick. These guys are always checking their phones. I mean, everyone does. You walk down the street and all you see is people (looking at their phones). It's just part of the society we live in today."

At least they aren't calling it, "The Twitter".

The hash tag needs some work, I know this motivational # is working for BC and a few other schools.

Maybe we make the new logo work for us with something like #bluedognation or maybe #rocktherent or something catchier than #ringthebell.

We already got the Nike RING THE BELL t-shirt. Just got to put a # in front of it (and change the block C to the new logo)

It's better than BCU's hashtag of #BeADude , that's for sure.

Dez had some stuff about P and instate recruiting that wascreally good. If he could only win I'd be all in with the guy. His approach and positive outlook are refreshing.

All I keep picturing is Sid Caesar in Grease with the rusty old victory bell that hasn't been rung in a decade.

What I want to picture this in my mind is this...(NSFW):

That should be the chant. Ring the bell. Ring the bell. Ring the bell!

I absolutely love this Coach Weist. He has been great on twitter promoting the program. Great enthusiasm and energy. If he can get this offense going I'm going to have a serious bromance the Next 4 months!

Wasn't Coach Weist a walk on at Alabama. Not a bad starting point. He knows what it takes and how to get it.

Yup... Walked on as WR, lettered and the spent a couple years there as an assistant.

Once practice started the whole UConn staff and UConn football has been blowing up Twitter and I love it. It really gives you a feel like this season is different and not the same old drab that has been the past two seasons. I hope they keep it up all season and next off-season. It's been great to see and engages the fan base on a whole new level that hasn't been utilized before. A+ guys!

I don't have the article with me but early on, before practice really got going TJ Weist said that a lot of what happens this year depends on how well the team comes together and develops a chemistry that allows them to take on adversity and overcome it by the will of the team and their belief in each other. Many people know the strategy and tactics needed to succeed but there are few that can blow the whistle and the troops get up out of the trench as one and rush across no man's land to victory. I get the feeling that TJ is one of those leaders that can get his men to rise to the next level. We have a running back coach that coached this position at Penn State no less. The offense is going to be vastly improved this year. It will probably start slow but then pick up speed. It will be a fun ride!
