Wasn't that the tweet by the consensus number 1 recruit when he decided to attend UConn?

Welcome to Storrs Mr. Drummond! Welcome freak athleticism. Welcome man child. Welcome dominant big man.

Oh...what we didn't tell you is our players have no hunger left and simply don't care about defense.

We forgot to mention that while many of our players are extremely talented and future NBA'ers, they are lazier than lazy and are content to just hoist jumpers all day.

We didn't make known that the team is incredibly talented but soft & severely overrated.

Welcome to Storrs Mr Drummond... you fit right in.

AD & the rest of these guys should be embarrassed by their effort today and most of this year. Tenn is a BAD basketball team. No way a team with our talent should lose this game. This entire year they have played lazy, being outworked by lesser talented teams.

JC needs some blame here too. There's no denying he's had incredible success as a coach. We are defending champs! But what's so puzzling is he's also had his share of teams recently that not only don't get better, they regress. I'm not saying we should be top 10 every year but in the last 10 years, he's had a few teams that were incredibly talented but played like they simply don't care. There's something wrong there. This team looks like it is heading that way.

On a side note, you have to wonder what would happen if JC ever brought in someone who knows how to teach offensive basketball. Historically, we have 2 offensive plays, and 2 plays only. This is a tradition. This is predictable. Unless we have a year where we have a superstar that can go 1 vs 5 ala RIP, Kemba, or Ben Gordon, our offense is anemic. He has to see this is the weak point of almost every UConn team. Why is this never addressed?

We don't have that player this year but we have great shooters. A little ball movement & variety on offense could do wonders.

Posts on internet message boards that use a second-person narrative always weird me out a little bit.

Harsh post, but not too far off the mark. I'm not sure I'd call our players lazy, but it would be an understatement to say they are not as hungry as they were last year. Not having that guy to bail out the offense when everybody is struggling is probably the toughest thing, and maybe it is simply taking longer than expected to gel without him. You may be onto something with the whole "What the *k are we doing on offense?" thing. This isn't the first time we've seen a Jim Calhoun offense stifled game in and game out, and when you find yourself thinking you could do a better job designing an offense, there is a problem.

Of course, it would help if any of our big men were capable of consistently making layups.
