I'm thinking of sending this definition to the Webster Dictionary folks:

Turtleball is a University of Connecticut football strategy, developed by Head Coach Bob Diaco and later used by Head Coach Randy Edsall. It is designed to minimize the margin of UConn defeats through the repeated and nearly exclusive use of basic running plays, regardless of outcome and game situation. Turtleball is most often used in rainy conditions, especially if the quarterback is small handed and has difficulty throwing a wet football.

Fans should not be surprised. Randy was coaching out of a 1950's playbook the first time he was here. He does not recognize the importance and value of the advent of the forward pass in college football. The unfortunately part is that by continuing to give all snaps to Pindell (who has done himself proud this season), Randy has assured that the '20 season starts with an inexperienced QB and probably has doomed any potential of a passing game for yet another season.
