Shocking! This will not be an easy game when we play Tulane on Wednesday. We have some work to do over the next few days.

We won't have any easy games going forward. We're looked at like a Tulane type team now.

The frustrating thing is on paper Akok, Bouknight, Gaffney, and Gilbert are all top 75-100 recruits. Thats more talent than a lot of other teams in the AAC including Tulane.

Forget Gilbert.

Whatever he was before the injuries, he’s not that now.

The freshmen are talented and play hard. Unfortunately, the upperclassmen are something other than that.

On paper we have more talent than any team other than Memphis in the AAC but our two best players are freshmen. Our veterans are completely lost and the freshmen are too young to take over. I don't see it getting much better next year with our step up to the Big East. Hurley needs to have the talk with some kids and bring in more talent.

Part of the equation though is that Gilbert clearly isn't the same player we recruited. The injuries and time off have had a significant impact. The other 3 are freshmen - that as Calipari is quick to note - are prone to getting exploited and having gaps in their game. Additionally, I think a lot of our talent is somewhat overrated. It will take more than 1 season plus 13 games to get back to our former glory. Think about this - if we are getting smoked by mediocre Cincy and USF teams - what will happen next year in the big east?

There’s no work to do.

They’re more talented than Tulane, but if Tulane hits them a few times, they’re apt to fold up the tent.
Tulane has a few guys who will give UConn fits
Talent level may be closer than you think
But I agree that UConn better put on some big boy pants

Well, the team will have a whole different look/feel next year without Vital and Gilbert, who are essentially getting replaced with RJ Cole and Andre Jackson. Then add Javonte Brown Ferguson, Springs, and probably a grad transfer to the mix. The team we have now is not even close to the team we have one year from now.

Every player on our roster was a higher rated recruit than every player on USF. Save for Whaley. That goes for several AAC teams. The lower rated guys on our team, CV, Carlton, Polley, Adams are all high 3* top 200 kids. Each and every one of them would be the best recruit in years for several teams in our conference.

But what we're bringing in clearly isn't enough. Javonte probably won't be able to give you more than spot minutes right away. We simply need a guy like Cliff and a couple others. Expecatations have really changed with the regression of the veterans.

Why would you listen to anything Calipari says? The thing is about bullsh...ers is that you never know when they might be telling the truth.

It ain’t about the recruit rankings. It’s simply the fact we are skinnier and weaker than just about every team we play. We are getting pushed around like rag dolls. Even the announcers talked about the pogo stick legs of our players. Rankings don’t mean squat right now. If they had rankings for heart and fight... now that would be something to recruit for!

The center ate us up yesterday, throw ranking out the window that kid was a very good player. Rankings seem to be very much a crapshoot once you get outside the top 100 and have less exposure

Lets also not forget that this game versus Tulane will tip at 9pm local time on a Wednesday night with likely no student presence at Gampel since students are still on break.

Calipari may know a thing or two about coaching freshmen...
