he's my fave PF recruit from what ive seen, although a couple others are higher rated (and also excellent). unselfish court vision
Looks like a slightly better version than AK.
Do you think this kid is in college for his senior season?2X starter for a national champion AK?
Do you think he starts as a freshman on a title worthy team?Do you think this kid is in college for his senior season?
And I have nothing but respect for AK he was certainly a huge piece of our natty teams. This kid just looks like he has the tools that will play in the nba right away with his size.

Ok whatever…One kid is going to more than likely be a top twenty recruit… looks like he is 2” taller can use both hands clearly has better hops and is more athletic but he is not even close……..you are not correct saying it’s not close….…so after he is one and done can you splain to me exactly how he is not a slightly better version of AK. What special AAU coaching metric are you using that would rate a one and done player not even close as far as basketball player talent than a player who is playing as a fifth year senior. I would love to see that talent evaluation tool………pocket aces are not better than pocket kings…..yes that is a riddle……You are changing the goalpost. You said he "looks like a slightly better version of AK"... this is not true or close to it.
Yes with the same roster we had and if the expected four gets injured and misses the first part of the season.Do you think he starts as a freshman on a title worthy team?

Really not taking it personally…..but I find that comment specifically as interesting. It is more a reaction to my experience on this board and having a general idea how it works and the whole tomato/tomoto culture. Which this back and forth embodies. You're taking this personally and it's very odd. I'm not sure where me coaching high school basketball 5 years ago comes into this. I'm glad to know I occupy so much rental space in your head though.
Look at the one-and-dones drafted over the past 10 years. The vast majority are inefficient and not winning players. Dylan Harper and Ace Bailey are great examples. The Cooper Flagg's of the world are anomalies.
Higher potential =/= being a better player. It means he'll most likely be a better player in 5 years.
Also AK isn't a 5th year senior.
watching his tape, I dont think its fair to say "its not close" to say he looks like a slightly better Ak (at same point in their careers). He might not be "better", but his skill set, just with athleticism, makes him very promising. I said earlier in this thread when he was ranked 150, that I think he looks like a top 50 player (just like AK was)You are changing the goalpost. I actually said basketball talent in my response. I know the difference between a 16 or 17 year old kid and a grown man. I agree with your assessment not sure how it got to be all that….watching his tape, I dont think its fair to say "its not close" to say he looks like a slightly better Ak (at same point in their careers). Not sure if you know but texts are misinterpreted all the time. I understand I am not a basketball savant but I understand the difference between 16-17 years old and 21or 22 years old. Maybe 23 I dont know how old Alex is. I understand you will not believe me and that is what it is.No you didn't.
"Looks like a slightly better version than AK."
That's what you said bucko. Do you think I wouldn't check? You should know I'm more petty than that
Karaban turns 23 a couple days before the season starts. Not sure if you know but texts are misinterpreted all the time. I will just say this. This kid will be drafted in the first round.
When you said he looks like a better version of Karaban, I didn't necessarily agree with you but assumed you meant at the same age. Feels like your comment got blown way out of proportion. Not sure if you know but texts are misinterpreted all the time. A few days after. His birthday is November 11.Karaban turns 23 a couple days before the season starts.
Thanks I also understand he is not a 5th year senior. Not sure what he is other than a young man who is pursuing a graduate degree while attempting to also secure a third championship, which if it happens, he will have had a huge role in and will become part of a very small group of college players.Karaban turns 23 a couple days before the season starts.
